The Enemy of Our Enemy = Our Enemy
Iraqi officials accuse Saudis of funneling millions to Sunni insurgents for weapons. Of course “Saudis Reportedly Funding Iraqi Sunnis” is an AP report, so you have to worry about which parts of this they made up.
If this is what our allies are doing, maybe we should talk to the Iranians. Iran, meet Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia, meet Iran. Saudi Arabia, with your oil wealth going to the people who have been most actively involved in killing American soldiers, think about what it’s going to be like around here if and when we leave. Work on that cash flow issue.
But we aren’t in much of a position to say that now. The exit light is flickering on, so what’s the likelihood the Saudis will listen to us, any more than they did before? They are already focused on the Iranians, and we are irrelevant.
Daniel Henniger at the Wall Street Journal and RealClearPolitics says the Iraq Study Group isn’t about saving Iraq. It’s about saving Washington.
More evidence of the irrelevancy of the ISG. Dana Milbank reports Panel member Eagleburger thinks it’s a joke.
Aaron Klein at WorldNetDaily introduces us to some of the true beneficiaries of ISG policies.
7.62justice, which is an interesting site, boogies with a few more ISG fans.
In case you need another Iraq Study Group recap, here’s one.
Just for laughs, here’s mockery of sanctions from the Democratic Daily, people who think sanctions were working on Saddam. Impressively Escher-like sense of self-satire.

If the Saudis are doing it, then the Kuwaitis are too.

How many hijackers were from Saudia Arabia? Who does your president like to hold hands with? Is the light flickering inside your little brain yet?

Ugh. Millbank’s piece was a revelation. Useless old coots getting their last taste of limelight.

Second to last paragraph in Dana’s piece - only one of the 10 had ever left the green zone. These old fools were in the same bubble as AP reporters are.
I’d also lay 10:1 odds, not a one of them ever read a milblog or perused the vast archive of Centcom/JTF news articles.
