Halp Us All
Jon Carry, in Iraq to make good with the Stuck, is headed to Syria to conduct some freelance foreign policy with an enemy of the United States, against the wishes of the administration which, headsup, like it or not, won the election.
The AP reports that Kerry’s meeting with troops in Iraq “was very informative and very helpful in crystallizing some of my thoughts insofar as what we can negotiate … and what needs to be accomplished. I certainly learned more about what the troops can or can’t achieve,” he said.
… Kerry declined to elaborate on how the visit affected his views on Iraq because his meetings continue Sunday. He is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki for a firsthand assessment on “what’s possible in the political dynamics.”
Kerry, a critic of Bush administration policies in Iraq, said the most important challenge now was to achieve “whatever success is possible.”
Sounds a lot like Kerry, perhaps having learned a thing or two in the autumn of a political career that looked promising before it didn’t, is trying not to commit himself before he does. By which I mean, stay with me here, because the logic is a tad pretzelian, Kerry reserves the right to be for success while being against it. Or against success while being for it. Sorry, I’m lost.
In any case, playing against an unpopular administration regardless of the consequences worked great 35 years ago. Too bad for Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, but one must have one’s priorities straight.
Here is my Sunday Boston Herald column on Kerr’s unerring instinct for the wrong side of history.
A Boston Herald editorial also weighs in.
Meanwhile, Gateway has a great roundup of Stuck art. Guys who didn’t study hard enough stuck at Kerry’s table at the mess hall, that kind of thing.

In everything sKerry says about this ‘trip,’ it should be noted that missing from hs verbiage are the words “Winning,” “Victory,” or “Win.”
Ever the defeatist, this is just another white flag waving ceremony for America’s phoniest ‘veteran.’

M.O.D.A.L.I.T.I.E.S.
In one word, Kerry shows himself to be a totally vacuous imbecile

Kerry should be talking to the convoy commander who asked Rumsfeld Why am I more patient than someone sitting at home in Fort ‘Livingroom’?”
It’s the troops committed to their mission that should be getting press time, not opportunists as Kerry and the like.

Is he putting himself in for another Purple Heart for mingling with the peasants?
The second pic is worth a caption contest at least. Mine would be:
“Euw. Kerry touched me. How do you get rid of warts?”

This is journalism? Are you kidding me? Why don’t you call your post exactly what it is: more lies, more right-winged extremist baloney, and ‘more much ado about nothing’ silliness.
Fact ONE:
The Iraq Study Group interviewed John Kerry and took most of the advice he gave them. When Baker went there to save George Bush’s hiney, you and not one of your posters whined or called him names.
But in your childish way, you resort to this infantile behavior.
The reason why Kerry was invited to speak at the ISG and why his advise was taken seriously was because when you leave politics and immature name-calling behind, John Kerry KNOWS what he’s doing and THEY KNOW THAT!
Fact Two:
John Kerry asked Condileesa Rice if she would like some help because right now, she’s clearly understaffed and unprepared to handle this by herself. SHE did not refuse his offer.
Fact Three:
John Kerry happens to have the stature AND RESPECT that is illusive to Bush and all his cronies. He is there to help our country not to just play politics. It’s something that you guys could learn something more about– putting aside the name calling and the lies to actually help our country and the world for a change!
Which leads me to fact FOUR:
You’re own silly little meme of “cut and run” which is so old and stale and moldy that it makes no sense that you even pretend anyone is buying that crap anymore.
Wake up and smell the coffee. What you like to pretend about John Kerry’s actions during Vietnam has nothing to do with fact and reality now. The only thing Vietnam has in common with Iraq is the fact that Bush, Cheney, Rummy, and other neoconservative war hawks REFUSED to serve while instead they supported sending others to die for a lie.
Get your head out of your made up history and out of your grudge holding and bring it back to 2006. Vietnam and Iraq have only one thing in common–LIES to start and continue an INEFFECTIVE WAR, “supported” by officials who don’t know their head from their a$$, and needless death as a result.
You can pretend that the cut and run means something, but 70% of America knows your meme is just B.S.
Thank God that John Kerry and Christopher Dodds are acting like adults instead of the schoolyard bully.

What dunderheads teh radical righties are. Has it occurred to you that your guy (Bush) will go down in history as the most incompetent idiotic chickenhawk war president evar? A bonafide rubber turkey with a lame duck agenda. Heh, thought not.
Keep dreaming girlie men. No one, and I mean NO ONE will take the republican party serious for YEARS to come. But keep the sophmoric pantywaist rants a coming and get ready for another smashing defeat in 08.

It is interesting how opinions and baseless assertions become “facts” when they follow a heading that labels them as such. I guess I’d be rich if I labeled a green piece of paper “My Million Dollars”

Bush, Cheney, Rummy, and other neoconservative war hawks REFUSED to serve
tsk, tsk, tsk. The left never does actually research things before they spew their nonsense.
Bush served in the Texas Air National Guard as a fighter pilot. He requested Viet Nam duty but was denied due to not accumulating enough flight points.
Cheney did indeed have draft deferments, but so did Kerry. Cheney was never called, as was Clinton, who actively dodged it.
Rumsfeld served in the U.S. Navy (1954-57) as an aviator and flight instructor. In 1957, he transferred to the Ready Reserve and continued his Naval service in flying and administrative assignments as a drilling reservist until 1975. He transferred to the Standby Reserve when he became Secretary of Defense in 1975 and to the Retired Reserve with the rank of Captain in 1989.
Since the left considers serving in the reserve or guard as draft dodging durung the Vietnam era, does that also make Dodd a draft dodger for serving in the reserves from 1969 to 1975?

Angry Tax Payer: you make me sick!! Kerry has NO RESPECT!!
I hope you have a supply of Potassium Iodide when the first nukes goes off in NYC & DC.
Viet Nam: Approx. 53000 Americans dead.
Korea: 90,000 Americans dead.
Iraq: 2,900 Americans dead: thoughvtragic, not even close.
You and your liberal friends need to go back and read your history books. You decry the loss of 2,900 Americans after we were attacked on 9/11; what about after we were attacked on 12/7 (or do you not even know that date)? Thereafter, we lost 90,000 in ONE battle within 90 days (look it up ~ it’s called “The Battle of the Bulge”. The war in Iraq is merely a battle in the War against Terror (somerhing you “lefties” haven’t figured out yet). The cost of losing this war is too great to EVEN CONSIDER leaving the battlefield now.
You call the right wing “chicken hawks”? If that’s the case you are just plain “CHICKEN”!!
The best defense is a good offense.
Lawrense: They said the same about Lincoln during/after the Civil War & Churchill during/after WWII. President Bush is the first President since Truman who “has a set”.
Time will tell.
