Neanderthals on the Couch
Ron Rosenbuam over at Pajamas analayzes the Geico caveman ads and calls for the return of the Nouveau Neanderthals. I think. This essay is a tad convoluted, not cave friendly. But that’s what Ug think he said.
While we’re on deepthink, quick, what was Darwin’s most popular book? “Origins of Species” doesn’t count. Think bioturbation. Yeah, that’s what I said. Bioturbation. And no, it doesn’t mean using a plant, you filthy minded ignoramus. h/t John Hawks.
Speaking of the superlative John Hawks, don’t miss his links and discussion on the subject of Monkey Signal Modulation. Don’t think Monkey Signal Modulation is relevant to your life? Well, just read down to the high school part.

Read the Rosenbaum piece with interest, mainly because I thought the Geico caveman ads were funny. Now they’re just becoming annoying. They went from snarky sarcasm to rudeness I would have reprimanded my kids for exhibiting, especially the last one (two cavemen arguing at a party on a balcony over one’s disloyalty in choosing Geico). I wonder if anyone else thinks (as I do) that these ads are a takeoff on gay men?
