Kimblogging

Kim gets big hits:

Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Il’s famous work “Songun-Based Revolutionary Line Is a Great Revolutionary Line of Our Era and an Ever-Victorious Banner of Our Revolution” was reportedly carried in the Internet homepage of the National Alliance for Democracy and Reunification of south Korea on Jan. 18. After its publication in the Internet homepage, the work is said to have been widely disseminated amid the keen interest of Netizens.

The use of hip Net lingo suggests cultural advances as the Information Paved Road, a Bridge to the 20th Century, closely bypasses North Korea. But there is still plenty of classic commie rhetoric on the DPRK news site. Scroll down to unearth gems too numerous to mention. Like this one:

A brisk motivational campaign for inspiring the entire people to implementing the tasks set forth by the joint New Year editorial has been undertaken in the DPRK. The Workers’ Party of Korea Publishing House, the Mansudae Art Studio and the Central Fine Arts Studio have created many posters calling upon the Korean people to effect innovations in their advance for the year. Among them are posters “Beat louder the drum of Songun revolution!”, “Forward to high eminence of great, prosperous powerful socialist nation!”

The newspapers come out every day with editorials, articles and items calling for carrying out the tasks put forth by the joint editorial, and TV and radios broadcast revolutionary and militant songs and music.

Artistes of the Pyongyang City Art Propaganda Troupe conduct radio and oral motivational activities at the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex and East Pyongyang Thermal-power Plant.

When the public face of Kim Jong Il’s regime is this ridiculous, you might forget he is enslaving and starving millions of people, and imprisoning and murdering untold thousands, next door to wealth and freedom. But as you slog through his forced joyousness and other torturous convolutions, it becomes apparent how bleak even a life of privilege must be in a cesspit like that. In a world full of obscenities, this one may take first prize.

WOW! Terrific commercial jingles. Can’t wait for our next Super Bowl.

As the Blog of Blair says. “I’m so ronery”.

    A brisk motivational campaign…

Translation: The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Welcome to North Korea is a documentary shot by a Brit in 2001. Worth an hour of your time. Pyongyang is a grotesque, empty monument to a madman.

    It cannot long continue.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

It’s nice to see that the dear great leader keeps his hispanic readers up to date.

The crudity of the propaganda is equaled only by the cruelty of this obscene regime. How can anyone claim to be civilized and not stand against it, in word if not in deed?
