And isn’t that what it’s all about, in the end: Doing well by doing good?

This thread over at FR has a picture of the monstrosity (scroll down to post #8).

Before this the Breck girl had another small shack over on Figure Eight Island.

And you know, good for him cause I don’t begrudge anyone getting ahead (even if that includes channeling the thoughts of unborn children and then suing hard working physicians for millions). But his whole man of the people shtick, that’s a little hard to stomach.

Awwww, give the guy a break (of course he’ll sue).

No really, I understand all but a measley 2000 square feet (he and Elizard will occupy) go towards helping house one of, maybe even both of the “two America’s”.

    I

Wonder if there’s any brush he can cut for the cameras in the back yard?

Gosh, I left my I, in my last post.

I honestly can say of John Edwards, when he was one of North Carolina’s Senators, that he did assist in getting a family I know that truly, truly needed help.

Clive and Sharon needed assistance as Clive had an accident that left him unable to work. Sharon’s income didn’t exactly get the job done. Clive, being a good old boy, with not much of an education, kept getting jerked around by State and County agencies, you know, the old “wrong department” that’s in building 5, room 202, then it was “wrong department” you need to be at the Harley Street office, room 503.

These people jerked Clive around, because as bureaucratic little piss ants, (who probably voted for Edwards) they knew they could.

I wrote letter to Elizabeth Dole (R, NC) AND at the time John Edwards (D, NC). Indicating the go here, go there treatment that Clive was getting and that during the elections of each of them, they probably shook Clive and Sharon’s hand to get their vote, but now that this family really need assistance, NOW was the time to get their respect.

Clive and Sharon heard nothing from Dole. Edwards had on of his top staff aides, visit Clive and Sharon (kid you not…I lived this story) within 30 days, these agencies were not only calling Clive and Sharon…Mr. and Mrs X, but with Edwards staff watching the entire process, Clive was put on SSDI. Sharon’s income, plus Clive’s disability income, now mean this family can live THEIR part of the American dream. They ain’t never gonna’ be filthy rich, and have a 28,000 square foot home, but they are going to live, eat and pay their bills.

Did I mention that Clive this gangly, not to educated good old boy called me up after all was settled, and cried?

I had never seen the hair-do video. I haven’t seen anything like that since my brother turned 14. I’ve never seen the “wet your lips” bit from a guy, though.

He’s nothing if not politic. I’m glad someone benefited, but wonder at the overall cost to others.
