Bad Deal
The Elders of Musa Qala cut a deal with the Brits, after the Brits fought hard to drive the Taliban out of their town. Stay out of our town, said the elders, and we’ll keep the Taliban out. Guess what. It didn’t work. Elders now in Taliban custody.
Meanwhile, same ‘Stan, different subject: Afghan Lord takes in the Ashoura festivities in his town, and talks to some of the young blades about why they’re cutting themselves up.
