Support My Mission!
This jackass Arkin thinks it’s about him. You’ll remember him … though I wouldn’t bother … as the Washington Post blogger who trashed American soldiers last week and said they should stop complaining. I’ll say this. He’s more honest than most of the people who share his views. Here is part of his latest whine about the flood of emails he’s had to endure. Almost sounds like he’s complaining about … I don’t know … not being supported:
I have become the enemy and have been demonized. In that process, I have ceased being a person, an individual, or a human being, all essential to justify the campaign to annihilate me. I’m not trying to offer myself up as victim here, nor do I expect the critics to change their view. I’m merely pointing out the process and the implications of the dehumanization.
His rather boring, extended jerk-off session is here.
Winds of Change nails it: “Yes, well, you can’t very well be the new Will Rogers if you also want to carry on like Gore Vidal. You’ll have to settle for being The Poor Man’s Chomsky and take your appropriate lumps.”
Ed Driscoll is curious about exactly where Arkin gets off claiming “dehumanization.”
Instapilot the A-10 jockey skewers Arkin in the Grand Hall at Castle Argghhh!!! Then he sobers up and commences mopping up operations.

Kinda sucks when your world view turns out not to be quite as popular as you thought it was. I guess he got a little too comfy with his own propaganda and started believing it.

People like this spend so much time hanging out with other people like themselves that they forget most folks think they are assholes. That tells you a lot about WaPo.

Terrye beat me to it. Reminds me of the liberal who couldn’t believe her candidate lost because everybody she knew voted for him. And they call us provincials.

I liked the part where he says “on the advice of his editors” this is his last post on the subject. In other words, they told him to shut the hell up and stop embarrassing them. Of course, he won’t, and they won’t do anything about it either.
