Iran wants to play, too. Tired of just having its spies scooped in Iraq, Iran has grabbed 100 on its Iraqi border. The number and location sounds a little like they just glanced at the usual suspects list and went door knocking.
Al-Khamenei says if Iran is attacked, Iran will attack US interests worldwide.
Meanwhile, Stratfor reports Iranian war games in the Gulf, a test of Iran’s missile defenses. I think they might be expecting something. This is actually great timing, as it gives the United States an opportunity to observe Iran in action ahead of any … action. Strafor’s news brief:
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards launched a two-day air and naval war game in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman to test missile defenses. Equipment to monitor incoming enemy missiles will be tested and missiles will be test-fired. The TOR-M1 air defense missile system recently supplied by Russia was successfully tested at the exercises.
