Clueless Factor

Vid of Obama: “3,000 lives of Americans … wasted,” a phrase I suspect is going to haunt him.  When I first saw the Hot Air link at Memeorandum, I could have sworn it said “Osama.”  But it didn’t.

Then, he borrowed an apology from Kerry:

Speaking to a group of reporters in the kitchen of a Nashua, N.H., home after a gathering for Democratic party activists, Obama said he had misspoken in Iowa, adding that his opposition to the war was grounded in a desire for soldiers to return home safely to their families.

“I would absolutely apologize if any of them felt that in some ways it had diminished the enormous courage and sacrifice that they’d shown,” Obama responded.

Well, Osa … I mean Obama …  the problem is, they’re dead.

I suspect there’s going to be a lot more “misspeakings” out of Obama before this is over. He’s so out of touch with middle America its inevitable.

This kind of tabloid smearing of the Democrats worked out so well for the neocons last November. Do keep it up.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, an American soldier reports that three of his comrades died in Iraq for $10 worth of scrap metal last Thursday:

Obama has it right…what a waste.

Not ready for prime time (Updated and bumped)

    Not ready for prime time
    Scott Johnson

On his first day of campaigning as an official candidate for president, Barack Obama committed what would in days of old have been recognized as a major international blunder. Times have changed, of course. If …

alphie, I realize you can’t help being a clueless asshole, but can’t you at least try to be an honest clueless asshole?

“I learn that the mission they were on was clearing the route to the site of an American helicopter that crashed the day before. The previous night they had cleared a path out so that the bodies of the crew could be recovered. Today, they had gone back to clear a path home for the Marines left to guard the airframe until arrangements could be made for its recovery and/or destruction. After the the first truck had been hit, they had pressed on to reach the Marines at the crash site, only to turn back when the second truck was hit. A Marine route clearance unit is diverted to the site, and eventually clears through. Meanwhile, we all sit and watch the screen track our platoons slow and painful progress back towards safety. I take my leave again, and go with a few friends. We sit, and begin to speak of the dead.”

$10.00 worth of scrap metal my sweet ass.

The burned out carcass of a 40 year old helicopter, bill?

I’d say $10 was being generous.

  6. Purple Avenger Says:

    Do keep it up

Oh they will. Democrats are very adept at smearing themselves. All they need do is open their mouths.

  7. Terrye Says:

    alphie:

I tell you what, why don’t you go find a real soldier to mouth off too alphie.

Oh but I forget, alphie belongs to the Michael Moore wing of the party. Ah yes, Iraq was a heaven of kite flying children dancing through meadows of singing butterlies and dancing unicorns.

And then out the land of Mordor, oops I mean Texas came [boo hiss] Bush, the man who actually believed that the intel gave to him by Clinton was accurate. Perhaps he should have realized, given the track record of the CIA and Bill’s preoccupation with the ladies that this info was not right…but in his silly desire to rid the world of a dictator and protect his country he went after a mass murdering monster who was considered one of the most brutal dictators of his time. How dare he? He should have done what Obama would have done and kissed the bad guy’s ass and insulted American servicemen while he was at it. That seems to be a regular hobby with the left.

  8. alphie Says:

Pointing out that our military seems to be run by idiots hardly makes me a “lefty,” Terrye.

The supporters of the Iraq war are now hiding in the fantasy land of ideology to avoid what’s right in front of their noses.

  9. RebeccaH Says:

Barack Obama is irrelevant. He’ll be yesterday’s news by the end of the year.

  10. CavMedic Says:

From alphie’s own link: “Today, they had gone back to clear a path home for the Marines left to guard the airframe until arrangements could be made for its recovery and/or destruction.”

That’s a little more than “$10 worth of scrap metal”.

Double fuck you sideways alphie, you ignorant prick.

  11. alphie Says:

The question is why the Marines were left to guard the wreck in the first place, CM.

Someone’s dumb decision cost three men their lives.

  12. CavMedic Says:

God, I don’t know alphie. Maybe they wanted someone to come out and examine the crash stie to see if they could determine what brought the chopper down so that we might prevent it from happening again. Maybe we wanted any sensitive items onboard to be secured so that they wouldn’t fall into enemy hands. Maybe, since we had to secure the location to call in an evacuation for the dead crewmembers, we decided not to try to evacuate the Marines until later for a variety of reasons.

None of that changes the fact that you are a clueless fuckwad who likes to talk out of his ass about things you haven’t got the first clue about. Go play in traffic.
