Weirdness Factor
The Smoking Gun cites an ultra-secret 1994 Guiliani pre-mayoral campaign document raising concerns … none of which prevented him from winning. Too Republican, not Republican enough, and then there’s the “weirdness factor.”
The report’s reference to the campaign’s expectation of a “no-holes-barred assault” is a little unsettling in light of subsequent police misdeeds that used Guiliani’s name in vain.

So far, there’s nothing in there that scares me away from Giuliani. Married his second cousin? Not like that ever happened in a traditional Italian family before. Moved his mistress into his house? At least he was open and above board and loyal to her, unlike some presidents we could name. Refuses to answer questions about his personal life? Washington is jammed to the rafters with politicians who won’t even answer questions about their public lives!
