Fun and Fodder on the Taxpayer’s Dollar

The New York Times has hit the nail on the head. “For Liberal Bloggers, Libby Trial is Fun and Fodder.”  That perfectly sums up what the Libby trial is all about. Enjoy it.  That is the sole value this $2 million dollar waste of taxpayers’ money will buy you.

We already know that Libby is not guilty of revealing a protected secret CIA operative’s name.  No one’s guilty of that, not even lib darling Richard Armitage, who is the one who actually revealed it.  Because revealing Valerie Plame’s name was not a crime, and Libby is not the one who did it. Libby is guilty of forgetting who he said what to, when.  Armitgae, guilty of allowing this travesty to continue for two years while reporters sat in jail protecting his ass, and Patrick Fitzgerald, guilty of continuing the prosecution of a non-crime, are not facing charges.

So be sure to enjoy that “yeasty mix of commentary, invective and inside jokes” as much as the New York Times does. You’re paying for it.  Libby might, too, with time, if the jury turns out to be half as moronic and politically blinded as some of the abovementioned parties.

The problem is that when liberals have fun, they tend to spend a lot of other people’s money to do it.

Bergerpants gets away with an actual crime with a slap on the wrist, sans public trial. Libby goes about his business and is scapegoat for a non-crime, his career stalled (if not ruined), he is forced to incur huge legal fees while his name slandered–all for the enjoyment of a group of people who demand such human sacrifice for their entertainment. The Romans had nothing on the left.

Well, Salty, the Romans did have one thing. They weren’t afraid to stab you in the front.

Berger should be vacationing at Eglin.
