Not So Swift
Somebody needs to tell John McCain that an endorsement from former GOP Massachusetts Acting Gov. Jane Swift is not a coup vs. Romney. Never-elected, ineffective first female governor of Massachusetts lurched from one petty scandal to another and became an object of ridicule, forcing her to cede the party nomination to Romney without a fight in 2002. Not that Massachusetts is worth anything to either McCain or Romney in 2008.
Speaking of petty scandals, Obama-lite Deval Patrick wanted everyone during his campaign to see how Obama-like he was, with several O-ppearances. But a month in the Massachusetts governor’s office, he’s looking more like Swift. He’s lurched from what should have been an inaugural bash scandal to what should be a helicopter scandal to what should be a Cadillac scandal … so far, he skates … and the Democratic Legislature is already telling him to stuff it.

Former acting governor Jane Swift as an education advisor? Sen. McCain - come to your senses quickly!!
As for current Gov. Patrick, I guess he enjoys the finer things in life..as long as the MA taxpayer is paying for it. Over $1100/month for a Caddy DTS! “Together we can” make sure that I’m treated like royalty while I do nothing as governor of this state.

“Far reaching” takes on a whole new meaning, slithering effortlessly into “overreaching.” Does McCain think he’s in trouble?
