Nothing Bound …
As non-binding resolution passes 246-182. Just in time for the polls to start shifting … for the surge. Told you governing by poll … or in this case, non-governing by resolution … is a bad idea.
Underscoring the point, Sister Toldjah with some key Demo-definitions.

Polls are just snap shots of public opinion. Those opinions can be and are manipulated not only events, but by the way in which those events are depicted. The thing about governing by polls, is who controls the polls? Obviously the media has a lot to do with it, but it is more than that. I think this kind of resolution is assanine. It serves no purpose but to embolden the enemy. Pelosi can say what she wants, but this will not bring the “boys” home, it will place them in more jeopardy. Might as well put a bullseye on those troops. Kill troops=help Democrats=Americans get sick of war and run away=terrorists win=Democrat wins in 08. Unless of course the American people blame the Democrats for the loss.

I was just listening to Hugh Hewitt and he said that Guiliani made the comment that “Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity get paid to comment, members of Congress get paid to decide”. That’s why this whole “non-binding” resolution business is crap: if you are opposed to what the President is doing, then take a stand. Anything else is just posturing-but sadly, that’s what get’s rewarded in America today.

Nice going, Congress. Lean with the wind, sooner or later you’ll fall on your butt.

What’s scary is, these are the people we elect to lead us, to make decisions in our name and for our good. It’s all too obvious to me, and probably to the whole world, that they are nothing but vote whores, too small-spirited and timid to articulate, let alone stand on, actual principles.

It’s always interesting to compare the President’s poll numbers with those of Congress. Usually, but not always, he has slightly higher numbers than our esteemed representatives…..a fact that is rarely noted by the media or the elected…as they blast Bush.

New Dhimm Strategy: Bleed The Troops — Update 3
I just called Congressman Johnson’s office to make sure he knows I’ll be working to get him defeated in the primary preceding the 2008 election.

I see that many of the Republicans who’ve been saying they’d vote yea, didn’t. Obviously the nervous nellies got cold feet when push came to shove. I’d love to know what went on behind the scenes. I’d also like to know what the phone calls from constituents were like.
“Vote whores” is right, except I’d add the word “spineless” in front of that.

Petraeus is going to make the democrats look like feckless worms before they have a chance to stop him. Bush has finally found his U.S Grant.

Emailed all 100 U.S. Senators, in advance of their vote on Murtha’s “slow bleed” resolution.
Congressperson John Murtha’s “slow bleed” resolution.
I understand, or believe I do, the divergence of opinion on Iraq, Afghanistan and the greater “War on Terror”. I will not hash or rehash any of the opinions, including mine.
The “slow bleed” legislation most certainly is not a benefit to the USA, nor is it a benefit to our brave men and women whose sworn duty is to protect and defend, what this great nation stands for.
What it is, from my viewpoint, is exactly what the Zawahiri’s of the world demand from those in power in our nation’s capital. Cut, (albeit slowly) Run (albeit slowly) and let us (the Zawahiri’s) chase you in your homeland.
May your conscience be your guide and may it guide you to a proper choice. Should you and your colleagues choose wrongly, the future generation(s) may not have a choice, in anything.
Most Sincerely,
Cliff Clavin and my Mother, Mrs. Clavin.
Got a little snarky with James Webb (D) VA. Saying I wanted to thank him for the respect and graciousness, he did show to the OFFICE of POTUS. Somehow, I don’t think I won him over.

To this point, I have received 12 auto-response emails from U.S. Senators.
Oh, I should add concerning the snarkiness. Some where in between 1/3 and 1/2 of the U.S. Senators, indicated, the ‘they’ respond to “constituents” ONLY.
Red Flag. I mentioned that because their title IS U.S. Senator, I AM a constituent, regardless my residence. For what ‘they’ do in D.C. affects ME as it does all, which happens to include themselves.
Leahy, VT. was particularly prickish. So with me being suaveh and deboner, I mentioned that if he truly wanted to address “Vermonters ONLY”, as he stated, resign your U.S. Senate seat and run for a Vermont State Senate seat.
Gee, I guess I’m as arrogant as James Webb, huh?
