Surge Reax
Mohammed at Iraq the Model reported on the quiet in Baghdad, attacks down 80 percent, apparently before two car bombs killed 63.
One day of Iraqis dying in large numbers follows four in which they didn’t. It was a matter of time before that happened, in the midst of what remains a success so far. The AP had earlier noted an overall reduction from about 50 bodies turning up each day to about 10, with both Sunni and Shiite terrorists on the run. The AP of course tried to put a bad spin on this, saying this benefit is temporary, only good until US troops pull out. Missing the point that, for the foreseeable future, this is why US troops should not be pulled out. Also missing the point that, plans call for a continued buildup of Iraqi forces. AP also doubts any confidence can be built in the Iraqi government.

One day of Americans dying in large numbers - panic, invade, kill!
Four years of Iraqis dying in large numbers - ho hum, everything is goin’ great!
Let’s hope the Iraqis will forgive us one day for what we’ve done to them.

alphie needs to get a job or somethng. yak yak yak.
It may not be possible to stop all the attacks. There are attacks in India, London, the US, thePhillipines, Bali, Indonesia, Spain, Morocco, Egypt, Thailand, Argentina, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghainistan, and the list goes on. So just stopping all the attacks is not reasonable. The idea is to get them down to a level that normal life is still possible for most people.
Hey, but cheer up alphie, maybe there will be a really huge attack somewhere and you can get off looking at pictures of dead people while you do what ever it is you do when you look at pictures of dead people.

BTW alphie, considering the fact that Saddam had already killed hundreds of htousands of Iraqis, was planning the exteermination of the Kurds, had destroyed the ecosystem the Marsh Arabs had lived off of for 5,000 years and could only maintain control over that country through terror, murder and bribery I don’t think we are the people the Iraqis need to forgive.

Theoretical Iraqis that Saddam might have killed if he were still in charge of Iraq aren’t like money in the bank that wingnuts can draw on whenever Iraqis are slaughtered on their watch, Terrye.
Saying you guys are no worse than Saddam is hardly a defense of your fiasco.
