An OED Moment
Paul Campos has beclowned himself. Most of you as loyal Tim Blair and Instapundit readers were probably present at the birth or at least the baptism of the verb Blair coined back in 2004, and PJM celebrated as Word of the Year So Far … that “So Far” honorific itself being worthy of pop culture notice. Anyway, as a committed word geek, I just want to join the celebration, maybe bust a bottle over Blair’s head, I dunno.
Now, its just a matter of waiting around for the greybeards of OED and Merriam-Webster to take note and preside over the confirmation. Not that any good English speaker needs them to OK what to say.
UPDATE: A Riehl scholar unearths the roots of an obscure but storied verb. Turns out Blair isn’t original, just exceedingly erudite.

Apparently, when asked about his weird argument that there’s been a war with Iran since 1979, and whether that means all the Iran-Contra characters had committed treason, Reynolds replied, “Iran has been at war with us, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been at war with Iran.” Idiot.
