Kumbaya, My Lord
If another aircraft carrier group in the Gulf and a couple of detentions in Iraq made Ahmadinejad sound like a flower child, this news ought to make him start sounding like Gandhi:
Israel is negotiating with the United States for permission to fly over Iraq as part of a plan to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.
To conduct surgical air strikes against Iran’s nuclear programme, Israeli war planes would need to fly across Iraq. But to do so the Israeli military authorities in Tel Aviv need permission from the Pentagon.
A senior Israeli defence official said negotiations were now underway between the two countries for the US-led coalition in Iraq to provide an “air corridor” in the event of the Israeli government deciding on unilateral military action to prevent Teheran developing nuclear weapons.
“We are planning for every eventuality, and sorting out issues such as these are crucially important,” said the official, who asked not to be named.
“The only way to do this is to fly through US-controlled air space. If we don’t sort these issues out now we could have a situation where American and Israeli war planes start shooting at each other.”
I highly doubt the Israelis are going to do this. But you never know. Meanwhile, it should be interesting to see what the affect will be of telling the Iranians the Israelis want to do this.

Your probably right that the Israelis won’t do it, but it’s good to hear some bravado from the good guys for a change. I’m getting tired of hearing that ‘America will be destroyed’ or ‘Israel will be wiped off of the map’ go unchallenged.

I rather doubt it’ll happen myself, but then, I thought that XM radio would go nowhere.

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran said Saturday that the United States was not in a position to take military action against it and urged Washington and its allies to engage in dialogue.
“We do not see America in a position to impose another crisis on its tax payers inside America by starting another war in the region,” Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told reporters Saturday.

Ahh yes. The old ‘appeal to the American taxpayer trick’. I’m sure the MSM, will kick this up a notch.
Hell, why don’t we just save a whole bunch of taxpayer money and eliminate Congress. We could split the money with Israel and other Allies and clean up a lot of things up.

This kind of “dialogue” is the only kind that seems to get through to Iran. It is telling that they are using same the memes as the left and their minions. It’s almost as if they are coordinating their propaganda. Unfortunately, I don’t think that kind of thing is necessary. The forces against the war in this country have been very open in letting the enemy know what to say, and when to say it. And they make sure that the enemy has a voice–as usual. Too bad they don’t offer the same courtesy to our own government (at least, those in the government who are working *for* victory).
Who said, “United we stand, divided we fall?”

I like to think that this is the Israelis and the Americans asking Iran: “Do ya feel lucky today, punk? Well, do ya?”
