Potty Mouth
I thought this was the case, turns out its true. Left half of the blogosphere has a harder time keeping it clean.
Not that I’m a puritan about your effs and esses etc.,* as my co-workers might tell you. Strong language has limited value and a lot of negatives in print. In speech as well, though that’s a harder habit to kick.
* then there’s your em effs, aka mofos, and your effing A’s, and your jay effing C.H.’s, gee dees, haitch esses, whatever.

Well of course, it’s the only thing the Left can use, mouths ( fingers too, when not occupying parts of their bodies).. I mean ‘they’ despise weapons. Gosh, what a pleasant thought. I mean, this turns ugly, it’ll be like skeet…PULL!

The constant use of swear words merely reveals a lack of vocabulary and/or imagination (surprised that the left use them so much more?). However, sometimes it can be emotionally satisfying to let loose with one, and sometimes it can add emphasis to a point of view that no other word quite can.
Euphemisms for swear words, on the other hand, are fucking useless.

I avoid using profanity, in part because I’m trying to kick the habit now that I am a full time civilian (it’s true, the military uses the word “fuck” as a comma and exclamation point, especially in the field).
But I also see profanity as a useful tool to emphasize my point……which means I need to use only when necessary.
Ultimately, though, profanity is profane, and not suitable under most circumstances.

But I gotta go with Rebecca, euphemisms are fucking worthless!

All bullshit aside, that’s a fucking good point, JeffS. You are one astute motherfucker.

The comments just prove how easy it is to use profanity. It trips off the tongue, and apparently the fingertips, as easily as an old man trips down a flight of stairs. I’m not opposed (there’s a reason for the “salty”, and it isn’t that I’m sage). But I’ve worked hard to clean up my language, especially since I’ve been commenting. I found, to my astonishment, that profanity can get in the way of rational thought, and it is hard to make a *valid* point without rational thought (see any toad post).
And if any of you muthafuckin’ bastards have a problem with that, you can take a flying fuck at the moon, cuz I don’t give a shit.
Profanity does have a certain cleansing property to it, when used sparingly.

Sort of like verbal Ex-Lax. Which I usually need when I’ve read an especially astounding moonbat post.

Gasp-reading this thread has given me the vapors. I must find the nearest fainting couch.

Y’know, you fuckers are all right.

Thank you for not being a sanctimonious wanker like most of the people in the blogosphere are. I feel like firing a big sweary STFU to these strawmen-toting dimwits on the left AND right. The moonbats are busy in their circle-jerk, bleating about what uptight prudes all of “us” are, and many–if not most–on the right are busy talking out of their asses, saying “people who swear are stupid.” I’d like to hear them explain how Bush (think the President of the United States doesn’t let a few zingers fly once in a while?), Cheney, Ace, the guys at Blackfive, or any other RW bloggers plus countless other conservatives are “stupid.” Isn’t it enough to say the left’s politics are fallacious and empty-headed? Why pile on, when people on your own side do the same thing?
(Funny I quit lurking on the sweary thread. What’s that say about me?)

Hey, its just blogs - we’re not talking about proofing Encyclopedia Britannica here, or even producing gleaming paragons of professionally crafted (and monstrously turgid) prose like James “occi-cat” Wolcott does for Vanity Fair ;->
Blogs are where you (metaphorically) grab some whining twit by the neck and thrash them about, while hollering: “you gotta lay off the fucking crack man, its rotting your brain!”
