Hail to the Funds!

I’m tired of Congress messing around with ridiculous measures like this: Webb introduces bill barring funding for military action vs. Iran.

Stop pussy-footing around that commander in chief, separation of powers thing. Get to the root of the problem. Bar funding for the White House.  Blair House, also. Then, Pelosi will be defacto funded president of the United States. DFPOTUS, if you will.

[...] Jules Crittendon says his piece, short and sweet: “Bar funding for the White House.  Blair House, also. Then, Pelosi will be defacto funded president of the United States.”  I still don’t think the proposal does anything.  It’s a public statement of support for the Constitution disguised as anti-Bush propaganda (which gets you political currency these days). I think Congress still has to declare war before The Decider takes command.

Bush’s poor aim explains why Webb feels the need to put training wheels on the defense budget.

Funny, I don’t remember voting for these people to represent me. Neither do I remember voting for them for CinC.

They are, however, perfect representatives for ignorant toads who see no value in the constitution, nor any danger in twisting it out of all recognition; i.e., people who cannot see beyond the next five minutes or the end of their noses, much less the end of the Bush administration.

  4. alphie Says:

I think it’s your side that wants to twist the Constitution, salty.

How much clearer can you get than:

“To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;”

Let’s be honest here, any attack on Iran would be because the neocons wanted to try to curb their political and economic power over the Middle East, not because they’re a threat to the U.S.

    The U.S. military isn’t a Christian militia.

Webb bill limits Iran fight Freshman Sen. James H. Webb Jr. yesterday introduced legislation to force President Bush to seek congressional authorization before using force against Iran. Democratic leaders, who indicated general support for the Virginia…

Wow, the troll made it through another day…well so far. Amazing.

You can think whatever you want. That doesn’t make it true however.

COngress, especially the Dhimicrats, don’t have the stones to stand up to Bush. They’ll keep up their little sneak attacks and ambushs like…..like……like…..like…..well, like the terrorists in Iraq do!

There’s a thought. Who is teaching whom, here?

How in hell did the toad get to be so utterly thoughtless? I thought that it was just a question of ignorance–and we are all ignorant about many things. But the more he writes, the more I realize he isn’t just ignorant. Toad has no knowledge to speak of, merely little bits of rote script spewed without consideration of the subject. Toad seems unable to find the subject. Perhaps it has a medical condition. Somebody call a vet.

  10. alphie Says:

The “little bits of rote script” are lines from the Constitution, salty.

The little document that every single officerr in the U.S. military has sworn to defend.

I doubt they’d go along with an attack that has about as much legality as a Klan lynchin’.

  11. snelson134 Says:

    alphie,

SCOTUS has already ruled that the Authorization for Use of Force passed by Congress is the legal equivalent of a declaration.

And the Left has spent 40 years convincing everyone that the Constitution is whatever men think it is anyway.

And most of the military doesn’t like your kind.

    Oopsie!
