Pork with a Side of Surrender

Gateway says it all: “Democrats vote for pork and defeat.”  He rounds it all up with links and vid, including Sam Johnson R-Tx giving Murtha a wedgie.

Retreat and Butter” doesn’t have quite the same ring, but over at WaPo they’re trying.

Bush gives it to Dems.

Al-Qaeda, which recently expressed disappointment with the Dem Cong’s failure to live up to its promises, comes out today with encouragement: defeat is near!

Don Surber: partisan stab in the back for 150,000 troops in Iraq.

Theoretically this must be very important for the Dem Cong.  Except that its sole purpose is to put people on the record. For surrender pork, or against it.  This measure will be smothered in its bed.

No celebration over at the DU, where they are grasping around for a silver lining to their victory.

Liberal Values: Bush forced us to be stupid.

Newshog: The debate about leaving Iraq has become about when rather than if, and that’s a good thing says the News Hog, who goes on with remarkable insight and candor to admit he is “one of the many who doesn’t have any good ideas on this topic.”  He is to be congratulated for recognizing that.

Has anyone actually investigated into how much of the “pork” that the GOP was accused of in this last election cycle was GOP pork and how much was the usual “opposition spam” pushed into bills that couldnt be vetoed without directly harming our war effort?
