    Reacting to Fecklessness

A couple of opinion pieces today underscore the price we’re paying for being so pusillanimous, both here and in the U.K.

  2. heather Says:

Just maybe Tony Blair knows something we don’t: the Brits are not able to respond to this Iranian piracy. So, he must go to meetings, make resolutions, and fulminate on TV, PRETENDING there is still some strength in the Old Lion.

That’s the way I see it, anyway.

As to the USA, it is tied down by a lost 2006 election and, more disabling, I think, the American desire to be LIKED. Even by the “Iranian people” as separate from the Iranian ‘government.’ If you want to be LIKED, you cannot be MEAN. Just watch Condi … glowing in the aftermath of the latest Arab ‘meeting’ which will solve the Israeli problem and hence all of the other problems…

And we keep using oil to fuel our furnaces, and our air conditioners, and our cars.. We do look like losers don’t we? Maybe, we ARE losers, and deserve our leadership..

the Brits are not able to respond to this Iranian piracy.

In 5 minutes the Brits could bring Iran to its economic knees with a half dozen carefully placed Tomahawks. You don’t know what Iran’s Achilles heel is do you?

  4. heather Says:

Yes, I do know what Iran’s achilles heel is. However, to go for the Iranian heel, the Brits must have courage.

For my own amusement, I am gathering info on the Battle of Waterloo. We think of Waterloo & Churchill and all that, when we look at Britain.

The fact is, at the end of WWII (60 years ago, ie, 3 generations), not only did Britain vote out Churchill; it also embraced the Beveridge Report and Fabian Socialism, and long lines, and continued poverty. They traded their courage for second rate peace, didn’t they? Thatcher tried to stop the downward slide, but it was and is, all memory now. Canada (except maybe Alberta) , my own home turf, has everything in common with Britain.

    The implications are dire.

Just another in a long, seemingly unending line of humiliations and defeats for the West. Be prepared for further humiliations forthwith.

Does This Sound Familiar? Ed Morrissey Tony Blair had better dust off his study material about the Jimmy Carter presidency. It looks like the Iranians have begun another embassy standoff:About 200 students threw rocks and firecrackers at the British Em…

Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bomb, bomb Iran. Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bomb, bomb Iran. Bomb Ira-a-an!

  8. heather Says:

Now that little rubber dinghy with the Brit soldiers in it was (supposed to be) associated with a British Frigate or some such ‘mother ship.’

Has anyone anywhere said where exactly that Mother Ship (with guns) was, when the Iranian pirates captured the British sailors?

  9. El Cid Says:

“Has anyone anywhere said where exactly that Mother Ship (with guns) was, when the Iranian pirates captured the British sailors?”

Excellent question. Have thought the same and have yet to hear a real good answer. Whomever the ships captain is, he should be A was.

  10. heather Says:

for good information, go to eureferendum.blogspot.com. It seems that the Brits outgunned the Iranians, at first, anyway…

  11. alphie Says:

Bush is looking more and more like Jimmy Carter as each day passes.

‘cept Jimmy did secure peace between Israel and Egypt, of course.
