I’d Suggest Rubber Boots …
… because you’re guaranteed to step in piles of it at a global warming rally. Instapundit advises dressing warm and tells the incredulously credulous: “… from my perspective we should be doing the same things — working hard to reduce the use of fossil fuels — regardless of what you think about global warming. But the self-righteousness and exaggeration of the global-warming advocates does set my teeth on edge, and encourage mockery.” Put another way, it’s a good idea to have a roof over your head. But the sky isn’t falling, and it doesn’t have to be 10 feet of reinforced concrete. Or a tinfoil helmet.
If you’re planning on saving the planet this weekend, Tim Blair has the forecast.
Gateway has the art. Damn … looks cold out there.

I too think we should be doing something to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, but not entirely because of the environment, and not without advancing our technology. Riding bicycles, denying our carnivorous nature, and buying “carbon offsets” to “save the planet” is worse than dumb. It discourages people from making real, effective effort.

“it doesn’t have to be 10 feet of reinforced concrete.”
I’m not sure I would discount the value of the above. What with the Islamists and the Invasion from south of the border (and a few from the north) a safe place with offensive capabilities is sounding better and better to me.
Of course if I were younger, I would prefer a fast tank, or a A10.
Of course with the wild weather we have been having, a good safe place with plenty of provisions and survival gear is something everyone should have.
Just common sense, which seems to be in short supply lately.
