Welcome to Beantown
See what I have to deal with around here? The photo accompanying this article was taken about 200 feet from the Boston Herald, across the bridge over the Mass Pike, opposite the Chinatown Cafe* on the coffee walk route I take most afternoons with my good friend John Strahinich, South Side Croat, shameless peacenik Dem, American draftdodger.
* R44, General Gau to kill for. M25, Udon Noodles Shanghai Style. Why am I even talking to you about these things? You don’t know. But Corndog does. Corndog, and that voracious pig Talbot, who I had to fight off my General Gau whenever he came sniffing around. Corndog, who proved himself useful at longlast, when he introduced me to the deep, abiding knowledge that all can be right in this world that is M25.

Jules,
Ah, don’t worry about the signs. You ought to ride with me on the VA bus to Jamaica Plains, or Roxbury, dodging snipers, muggers, and lunatic drivers. The signs just help hide the battle damage…..
It’s an adventure, to be certain.

M-25. Lots of pork, lot of brown sauce. Tied up in the long plastic bag. Mmm. Right now, I’d even share it. But not with Talbot. Never with Talbot.

The best General Gau anywhere. Try the Shredded Duck Lo Mein too. Too bad they close at 8:30, though.
