Most Wanted Militant Orchestrates Operations

Well, look who’s toadying up to the Sheik.  Last time I checked one-legged mujstar Mullah Dadullah was holed up like Butch and Sundance in a village in Uruzgon, though his flak said he was in Helmand.  Now he’s on al-Jazeera stroking al-Boss:

“He is drawing plans in Iraq and Afghanistan … Praise God he is alive,” Mullah Dadullah told Al Jazeera television.

In September, a French newspaper quoted French foreign intelligence service as saying the Saudi intelligence were convinced bin Laden had died of typhoid in Pakistan in August.
Dadullah said bin Laden ordered the attack on February 27 at the U.S. Bagram base during a visit by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney to Afghanistan.“Do you remember the martyrdom operation inside the Bagram base which targeted a senior American official … this operation was the result of blessed plans put by him,” Dadullah said. Jazeera said the U.S. official Dadullah was referring to was Cheney.

“He (bin Laden) guided us through it,” he said, adding that no Afghan would have been able to penetrate the base if it was not for the world’s most wanted militant.

Bin Laden’s a militant?  I thought purposefully targeting civilians for the purpose of spreading terror was something else. Anyway, Reuters interprets the words of Dadullah to mean “Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden is orchestrating militants’ operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.”  There’s that “militant” thing again.  What’s with that?  Whatever.  I have to say that Reuters must have as loose an interpretation of the word “orchestrating” as it does of the word “militant” if Reuters buys that OBL is directing operations in Iraq from a cave in Waziristan. Meanwhile, I need to get to the bottom of this Dadullah thing.

Afgha, curious about the same thing, says timing of interview can’t be confirmed.

Al-J isn’t saying.  Interesting that A-Jaz dodges that terrorist-militant thing entirely.  “Fighters.”  Afgha slips in “militant activities in Iraq.”  Not clear if that refers to car bombs in Baghdad markets or chlorine bombs in Anbar.

Dadullah has come out a couple of times saying nice things about OBL and what a big shot he is.  Interesting.  You’ll recall Zawahiri raised speculation that OBL was on the outs or even dead by failing to refer to him in taped messages, instead talking up the one-eyed Mullah Omar.  NYT of course told us in February that al-Qaeda was reasserting control of worldwide operations

UBL wasn’t targeting civilians for the purpose of spreading terror. He was just trying to raise awareness of the horrible plight of the poor islamofascist.

I still believe OBL is pushing up poppies in Armpitistan. Either that or he’s too scared to show his face in videos anymore for fear the big, bad Devil Dogs will get him.

I thought the attack was stopped at the outer wire. Am I wrong or is the claim not reality based ?

(I was going to ask whether Dadullah and Al Jazeera were not reality based, but we know they aren’t. Eg. Al Jazeera’s Taliban have taken no casualties except for suicide bombers)

Yep, I checked what the reports said. E.g. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17355517/

The explosion happened near the first of at least three gated checkpoints that vehicles must pass through before gaining access to the Bagram Air Base

Once again the media happily publish lies without comment.
