Hagel Hearts Hill
The Republican Party has been hijacked. Therefore, Hagel says, he’ll do everything he can to get Hillary elected.
OK, that’s not exactly what he said. Same difference.
“It’s the kind of thing that it’s so tantalizing, I think it meets a need not just with the political system but with the public,” said Michelle McQueen Martin of National Public Radio. “I mean, you see a yearning within the public for another option.”
But prospects for a third-party victory don’t appear to be strong.
“Third-party candidates tend not to win,” Martin said. “What they do tend to do is change the dynamic of a race to favor somebody who’s already in the race.”
Put another way, they tend to lose, but have the potential to be spoilers. Though I suspect a Hagel/Bloomberg ticket will have it work cut out for it just losing, and would be hard put to spoil anything.

Considering the collective leadership we’ve had over the years, I find the idea of a third party attractive. But I don’t think this is it, yet.

Actually Hagel would hurt Democrats since they are likely to nominate someone like him who want to lose in Iraq. Republicans on the other hand will nominate someone who wants to win. Maybe this is Hagel’s back door way of helping his old party. But, since he can’t register above * level in any of the polls, his effect will still be minimal.
+ = less than one percent.

I don’t think Iraq is really going to be a big political issue by next November.

Hagel hearts Hagel and that’s about it. Hmmm, if Hagel runs would the Dhimms think they need to nominate a vet to have more national defense cred? Is this Jean Fraud’s big break?

I think a Hagel Bloomberg ticket (more likely Bloomberg Hagel*) would hurt the Dems more than the R’s. No real conservative would vote for either of those desperadoes.

I wish . . . . I wish someone with half a brain and some actual convictions would run. Convictions that they state out loud and stand by. Just once.
