Friendly Fire

Kerry faces a challenge on his left flank: Gloucester lobsterman/attorney says he should have been against it when he was for it.  You know, before he was against it.

…a fresh perspective into the political system“?

Considering he’s running against John Kerry, that would mean common sense and intelligence.

  2. corndog Says:

Right, Jeffy. A virtually unknown Gloucesterman running against a three-term incumbent with huge national support and more than $20 million in his fund. Definitely an indication of common sense and intelligence, Jeffy-style.

  3. The_Real_JeffS Says:

Money and national support does not equate to intelligence and common sense, corndog. Neither does a background of lobstering, lawyering, and fire fighting, for that matter. It’s just that a big rock on the bottom of the ocean has more intelligence and common sense that John Kerry. I can’t say anything about O’Reilly, as I don’t recall him being a doofus on national TV. Not yet anywho.

OTOH, we are discussing Taxachussetts Dhimmicrats, so it’s possible O’Reilly and Kerry are very much alike. The impending campaign should provide considerable amusement for us world conquering RWDBs, given all the comedy gold Kerry produced during the ‘04 elections.

Jules, can you keep a close eye on this O’Reilly character? I think there’s a bright spot in this silly, prolonged presidential campaig. Thanks!

  4. corndog Says:

I never said money and national support equates to intelligence and common sense, Jeffy.

The fact that you can’t see that is yet another indication of common sense and intelligence, Jeffy-style.

  5. The_Real_JeffS Says:

Nice obfuscation and conflation, corndog. Not to mention general confusion on your part. I never said you equated the two.

You seem to consider having lots of money and national support to be more important for a politician than being intelligent and having common sense. I disagreed with your perspective in no uncertain terms, by pointing that they are not related.

You think not? Even though O’Reilly is a Democrat, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, implying that he is intelligent and sensible. You crapped on O’Reilly’s parade, waving the DNC credit card as your proof (although Kerry still has that $15 million leftover from the ‘04 Presidential campagin warchest, does he not?).

From this, I infer that you reacted more to my implication that Kerry is anything but intelligent and sensible.

My apologies. I should not have done that.

I should have CLEARLY stated that John Kerry is not intelligent, and lack common sense to an almost pathological degree. I’m sure that he’s a good schmoozer, and can kiss babies with the best of them, but I’d rather see a former lobsterman in the US Senate than John Kerry (who is a Vietnam vet, did you know that?).

Happy hour isn’t far away, corndog. Enjoy your weekend!

Embrace the negativity, corndog! Find something contrary to say about everything! Come on, don’t hold back, give us your sour take on the world. It makes us feel better about ourselves.

  7. corndog Says:

Well, yes, Jeffy, I do consider national support and lots of money to be more important than common sense and intelligence.

Do you really think that the most intelligent and commonsensical people beat the people with lots of money and national support in politics? Hello? How long have you been alive in this world?

The last serious competition Kerry had for the Senate was against Gov. Weld, who was very popular, witty, highly intelligent (I think I remember a report saying that he may be the smartest governor ever in Massachusetts), had national support and attention. Kerry trounced him. (I voted for Weld, for what it’s worth).

You think an unknown Gloucesterman is going to do better? I don’t care if he’d make a much better Senator, is smarter, has more common sense. He’s not going to go anywhere. Surely you are intelligent and have enough common sense to see that.

  8. corndog Says:

    Becky,

I don’t embrace the negativity; I embrace the contrary. This is room 403, and I came here for an argument.

If Jeffy had said Kerry was the Man, I’d have probably slapped him around for being elitist and against the underdog and common man.

I never said he was going to beat Kerry. Or that he had a chance of doing so. I just said that the opposite of Kerry is intelligence and common sense. I also said (a little later) I’d rather see a former lobsterman in the Senate than John Effing Kerry.

Seriously. Lurch has been in the Senate for over 20 years, and his major accomplishment has been the nearly exclusive financial support of the personal grooming services industry in the northeast. Yet the voters of Massachussetts keep on re-electing this loser.

A lobsterman winning against that machine? Please! It would just be refreshing to see the People’s Republic of Massachussetts actually live up to its reputation as the bastion of egalitarianism.

If Jeffy had said Kerry was the Man, I’d have probably slapped him around for being elitist and against the underdog and common man.

If I ever say that, push me over and bury me. I don’t embrace the contrary or negativity. I whack idiocy up along side the head, in whatever form it pops up in. It keeps me pretty busy, too!

Better have a double of whatever you’re drinking tonight, corndog. Sounds like you need a good stiff belt.

Hmmmmmm! That was dorked up…….let’s try again……

    BUAWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Who’s putting words in whose mouth, now, corndog? I said “Considering he’s running against John Kerry, that would mean common sense and intelligence.

  11. corndog Says:

Yeah, Jeffy, really big whacking, there.

You never said the opposite of Kerry is intelligence and common sense.

In fact, even if you had done so, that would not mean that O’Reilly had it. Running against Kerry doesn’t make you the opposite of Kerry, after all. Come to think of it, this is probably why you voted for Bush. You thought Kerry was a moron, and, therefore, ergo, Bush must be brilliant.

    Excellent reasoning skills, Jeffy.

So you don’t really believe anything you say. It’s all about wanting to feel clever and superior, not at all about actually contributing ideas or supporting a position. In other words, a total waste of other people’s time.

  13. The_Real_JeffS Says:

    Yep! Therefore, not worth engaging.
