Cop Shot
A Boston anti-gang cop was shot in Dorchester last night. It looks like he’s going to be OK. The perp was also shot as a statie attached to the gang unit returned fire.
Hence lightness in posting overnight. These events required me to turn around and head back to work at 10 p.m., as it was necessary for me to assist as my people kicked the Boston Globe’s ass. Again.

Jules,
As much as I love your blog and the Boston Herald, to say that you kicked the Globe’s ass isn’t really a powerful statement. I mean a monkey high on crack could write better than most of the Globe reporters.

Shhh. If the Globe finds out and starts hiring monkeys high on crack, there could be trouble.

Whoa! I hadn’t noticed that you were another non-liberal blogger in the Boston area.

taoist,
Jules is what a reporter SHOULD be. Someone who can not only write well, but do appropriate research as well. I read the Boston Herald daily as a result not only of Jules, but of the other quality folks they have working there. It simply IS that good.
Now, I want to be straight up and say that I am not wrting this for anything other than unsolicited praise for a job well done. It’s true that the Herald will make the occasional gaff. That’s a fact of life with anyone, and with any source. However, the Herald seems to make it a point to acknowledge them up front, unlike other papers and MSM units that can take days, if ever, to admit something wasn’t done well.
I don;t work for the Herald, and I’ve never met Jules. The closest I have come is driving by their building once when on my way through Boston to the VA hospital at JP, and calling in a couple times to Howie Carr’s radio show.
I’m simply a satisfied reader, and one happy to say so.

Heh.
Lunch sometime will be fine, and besides, you can charge it to your expense account. Better cover…. you know how sneaky those Globe types can be… always lurking about.. :)
I mean, their ace sports guy was BORGES? A guy who had a genetic distaste for anything positive related to the Patriots? Sigh…
Respects,

No, don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking Jules credentials at all. I’m just surprised whenever I find any other bloggers in the Boston area who are not liberal.

“Lunch sometime will be fine, and besides, you can charge it to your expense account.”
You left out one of the best things about the Herald - it is very close to Chinatown.
