Hezbollah’s Baaaaaack!
Blacksmith Jade on the implications of a bomb defused in UNIFIL’s zone:
the Leb Army defused a bomb inUNIFIL’s area of operations. The first bomb to target their security zone (and in this case a beach rest house they frequent) since their deployment, looks like the Syrians are trying to turn the heat up and (most likely in collaboration with Hizballah) prevent the Lebanese Army - and nation in general - from capitalizing on their military and political victory in the northern Palestinian camp of Nahr el Bared. Such a victory would be a severe blow to Hizballah’s state-within-a-state and to Syria’s efforts at showing the world that Lebanon can’t be stable without its troops there (even though its pretty much the only thing generating instability there).
