Doomed, Doomed I Tell You
“As Senate Deals Sinks, So Does Bush’s Power”
NYT announces onset of Bush’s lame duck period.
That’s odd. I thought that started in November, when the Democrats “took over” Congress. No wait, maybe it was in February … it was February, right, when they finally managed to a very strongly toned down non-binding expression of distaste. No, it was the Scooter Libby conviction, that’s when it was. End of an error, demise of Dick Cheney. It definitely wasn’t a couple of weeks ago when the Democratic Congress capitulated on its signature surrender plan (strategic advance to the rear, I believe that was, regroup for fall anschluss). So this is it. The big lame duck period has finally started. Interesting it should happen with a big uniter-not-a-divider handshake-across-the-aisle with Ted Kennedy, soundly rejected by both parties. Surely this must be the end.
So what’s with that “air of undeterred determination.” I mean Bush’s failure to give up, not the NYT scribbler’s redundacy of phrase, if not theme.
I sense another battle with the Democratic-”led” Congress: “Generational War Czar.” This should be good.

Maybe the NYT is referring to that “100 Days” Pelosi was harping about? We’re well past that as well.

Easy for Canadians like RT to whine, when its the US that always does the bulk of the heavy lifting.

Do they just not teach frickin’ history in school any more? The comments for that post are completely surreal.
Ah, but it’s a lefty site. I answer my own question.
