The Pious Life

Paris calls Barbara from jail.  Like so many crims, Paris has had a religious awakening behind bars:

“I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. I was not myself. It was a horrible experience.”

“How are you different?” I asked.

“I’m not the same person I was,” she said. “I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute. It is not who I am, nor do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me. I know now that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that. I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here. I have become much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance.”

“My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail.”

“God,” she said, “has released me.”

It’s not like she needs to convince a parole board.  Who knows, maybe it’s the new phase of La Hilton.  From heirhead to halo.  The Pious Life.  Could work.

More on this victim of society.

Being in jail, perhaps Paris converted to Islam. If so, and she stuffs herself into a burqa for the rest of her life, we can finally find some good in the on going Islamic recruitment program within our penal system.

Personally, I don’t think acting dumb is cute at any age. As for doing different things, dropping out of the public eye would be a terrific start. Frankly, pigs have a better chance of growing wings.

She is going to end up chats shows all over the planet. Going to jail is going to turn her from a ‘celeb’ into a media tart. Just wait for the chat show she will no doubt be offered!

I’m sure Oprah operatives are even now working out a deal.

“I … felt as if I was in a cage.” Is that because you are?
