Goreperotcuomo for King of Lesotholand
Bloomberg insists he’s not running. Which makes his sudden change of horses make so much sense. I think he might be a wannabe Al Gore. He wants people to beg, and he wants to be seen himself as a prophet … we must beg him to lead us out of the partisan wilderness.
So he’s shaping up as a sort of a biblical Gore-Perot-Cuomo, a coy independent prophet billionnaire genius who can’t seem to make up his mind about important stuff. Clearly presidential material.
He’s also trying to restrict reporters’ questions to his favorite, irrelevant topic at times of heightened interest in other matters. There is also some highly technical journalistic terminology we in the news business use to describe a person who behaves like this. We call them “control freaks,” or more informally, “assholes.”
That didn’t prevent some gratuitous pontificating, however.
“I’m particularly upset that the big issues of the time keep getting pushed to the back and we focus on small things that probably only inside the Beltway are important,” he said.
Not like the 50,000th caller to 311 system,* a big thing many voters are concerned about outside the Beltway.
My professional recommendation as a tabloid news editing technician is that no one show up next time he schedules an event to talk about phone service. Or anything else. He’ll quickly learn to limit his public posturing to things people give a damn about.
* As far outside the Beltway as Seoul, Rio and Lesotholand, to judge by who’s calling to get their potholes fixed. Hey Bloomberg, how about some ESL for the immigrants?)

Of course Bloomberg is more interested in being a prophet than president. He’s not accountable for any crap that he says, and the pay is better.

The silly season seems to start earlier and earlier. In fact, our politicians seems to be caught in some bizarro universe where it is always the silly season. Bloomberg is running for head clown.

Want to know what our tax dollar-paid public servants think of us?
It’s a message board for congressional staffers. And they think “voters are stupid”.

Please, Bloomy, rescue us from our long national nightmare. We need a left-partisan non-partisan like you.
Why only you, the leftest of the left-partisan non-partisans, can divide the Democrat vote in half giving the race in a cakewalk to any Republican with a pulse.
Bloomy, Bloomy, Please don’t go, We’ll eat you up we love you so.

Thanks for the link, Rebecca. Unfortunately I’m not surprised at the attitude shown on that site.
Of course, it isn’t just the staff that is contemptuous of the voters (you know, the people who work their behinds off to pay their salaries?). The elected officials are just as bad.
