Business As Usual

… for the Jungle Trader. Takes me back to when I was a little boy in Derkaderkastan.  He’s got all kinds of elephants in all kinds of trouble.  There’s a “trained” tiger and a couple of leopard fights. Your obligatory thief-beating. Never any shortage of snakes, not where he hangs out. A little cannibalism. Angkor and a couple of mummies.  What are you hanging around here for? Pull on your jodhpurs, grab your pith helmet and go see for yourself.

I’ve become a daily reader of the Trader. It makes me feel like a girl again. My dad was a China sailor, and the son of a China sailor (my grandfather died in Shanghai when he was caught in a riot). To round things out, my older brother spent almost his entire Navy career in Asia. I’ve heard such stories all my life.

    Good times.

My friend Howard’s young and beautiful wife ran off with some guy by the name of Spoon. I was speechless when I heard the news. I never expected to come across a real-life example of a dish running away with a Spoon.

It’s certainly a refreshing change from the usual dread stew of politics and war.
