No Yellowcake

Joe Wilson Endorses Hillary. The Taylor Marsh laugh in the corner works well with this item, like even she thinks this is a hoot.

The big event happens on a leftie blogger conference call, as a further indication of Hillary hipness. But I want to know where Wilson fits in the campaign.  Foreign policy advisor? Does he get to be Secretary of State in a Clinton 44 admin?  Or is she going to want someone competent who can be relied on not to overlook key facts, misspeak in the process of blabbing about CIA business and turn it into a personal jihad and national soap opera?  Maybe he’s doing this for Valerie, and she gets to be CIA director.  That could be an uncomfortable hearing, though. Hey, it’s a hot summer afternoon. Kick back and watch some TV.

Some interesting lines:

Wilson believes Clinton is the one that understands the adversary we’re all facing and will fight for us better than the rest of the field.

No mention of who that adversary is, or what field.

”This is not a job interview,” said Wilson, in response to the possibility of being in a Clinton administration.

I assume she left out the words “a question about,” and the possibility wasn’t a physical presence on the line in that blogger conference call like a homunculus. Then again …

Would like to hear some gushing about that possibility, though.

Here’s a great line from Talk Left:

He and Valerie had dinner with Hillary in Washington before they moved to Santa Fe. Joe was talking about the revenge he’d like to take on the Republicans for what they put him and Valerie through. Hillary leaned across the table and said, “Joe, let it go.” Don’t get bogged down.

Obsessive crazy never really works as a job interview line. Even with people you might expect to be sympathetic. (UPDATE: 4iraqisfuture in comments below offers some insight into why Hillary would rather everyone remain unbogged. Fascinating question. When did Joe clue his good friend of 10 years with whom he often talks about Iraq into that ”no yellowcake” thing?)

Nor does breathlessness as an intro, followed by self-importance trumpeting. But Steve Clemons at Washington Note offers this:

He does have a unique ability to motivate and mobilize real people as the encounter he and his wife, Valerie Plame Wilson, have had with the Bush administration over the President’s war in Iraq has been the single most important event exposing serious crimes and duplicity committed by Bush administration officials.

A perjury conviction of a secondary official stemming from the investigation of a non-crime, but OK.

Wilson and Plame are favorites among the leftish “net-roots” …

But now Joe Wilson has endorsed someone that many in the blogosphere have been slow to love: Hillary Rodham Clinton. This will have impact and will shock some. Some lefty bloggers will not abandon Obama and not forgive Clinton for being complicit in the decisions that empowered the Bush White House to wage the Iraq War. But others will now rethink their positions.

Clemons closes with some mutual Wilson-Clemons name dropping. “‘Zbigniew’ and others that he and I have mutual acquaintance with.” But more interesting is the notion that the endorsement of a mountebank of this variety is enough to make committed nutroots rethink their positions.  I suppose in that context it is an important step in Hillary’s campaign, if it gets at least some of the diehard surrender camp past the fact that she supported this war pretty much until the campaign kicked off. It’s as though Wilson is declaring that Hillary never bought any yellowcake from George Bush.

OK, I’m bored already. My apologies. I can’t believe I just spent that much time and energy on this.

Hi Gateway, etal. You bored, too? Islamic Rage Boy is never bored, and never boring. The Dem Cong and their anti-war tilting is getting that way. Too bad they don’t put all the energy to something useful. Never a dull moment in Iraq, though.  Anyway, if you’re bored, you have a couple of choices. You could watch TV or think seriously about what you want to do with your life.

Imagine your life stuck between Valerie and Hillary. Aortic dissection looks like the only solution.

    “Joe Wilson Endorses Hillary.”

    Serves her right.

I followed that link back to TalkLeft. I was laughing my ass off.

“Joe says he has known Hillary for over a decade and has spent a lot of time discussing Iraq with her….

They are friends who speak often.”

To which a conservative mole in their comment section opined:

“One would have thought the only expert on Iraqi WMD would have told his friend Hillary they didn’t exist. Joe took his trip in February of 2002, 8 months before his friend Hillary voted for the Iraq Resolution. It would make sense she accept his endorsement; he is a fraud and so is Hillary. ”

I hope to see Plame on TV answering questions again. Perjury traps are wicked. Ask Bill Clinton or Libby.

And Plame is caught worse than Clinton or Libby; she used email to recommend Joe. She denied ever recommending him under oath. Smart move. Do you think email disappears when you hit delete?

Joe Wilson is a liar and a thoroughly discredited person. If I was Hillary, I would have ran away from an endorsement from this guy.

Come, come, now, Jules, how can you be so disrespectful? To the Left, this is important: Joe and Valerie were on the cover of Vanity Fair! Let’s get real, people, some things matter!

“Wilson believes Clinton is the one that understands the adversary we’re all facing and will fight for us better than the rest of the field.”

What the quisling means, of course, is “the adversary” that needs fighting isn’t the enemy Islamists who are trying to destroy this country, but those who would fight the enemy Islamists who are trying to destroy this country.
