Liveblogging Jerusalem

With art. And politics. Gateway got a free gig to my favorite city.  My favorite Old City, that is.

(Note to Midwest Jim … avoid the trinket shops on David Street down from the Jaffa Gate, but dicker furiously if you can’t help yourself.  If you head north to the Golan, a must-visit anyway, you’ll find all that stuff’s about a quarter the price in Majdel Shams. Also, great shawerma in the hole-in-the-wall on the northwest corner of Manger Square, Bethlehem. In continuous operation since the time of Jesus, Joseph believed to have fetched shawerma from this shop for the three wise men. Great shawmera on Souk Khan al-Zeit in the Muslim Quarter, also. Heck, anyone ever had a bad shawerma? Hey Jim, bring me back an “I Brake for Shawerma” bumpersticker.)

More Jerusalem art here, by a photog who appears to have a particular perspective but took some nice Jerusalem pics.
