Latest Yon

Amid all this talk of timetables for the War in Iraq, blurred as they are by a strange lemming-like compulsion to declare the “surge” strategy a failure almost before it actually began, one deadline looms larger with each passing day: It’s time for a reckoning with the truth.

Whole thing here

Don’t forget to visit Yon’s tip jar here.  That’s how he finances this.

Putting a link to Yon’s “tip jar” right next a link from his latest cheerleading piece is a bit obvious, don’t you think?

  2. Purple Avenger Says:

    Yon is not a cheerleader.

You are a cheerleader – for the enemy.

  3. spqrzilla Says:

“Obvious”? Uh, alphie, your reading comprehension seems to be pretty low still. As Jules put a whole two sentences to bring attention to the tipjar button, it is intended to be obvious. Is there a adult education course “English for the recent immigrant to Earth” ?

  4. The_Real_JeffS Says:

It’s so obvious, in fact, that I hit the tip jar, to support Michael Yon. And it’s not the first time that I’ve done so.

But the fact that THE ALPHTARD™ doesn’t like that tipjar link took my donation from merely satisfying to absolutely scrumptious.

    ALL HAIL THE ALPHTARD™!!!

  5. spqrzilla Says:

    Jeff, ooooooo, you da man.

  6. alphie Says:

    Haha, Jeffy,

There’s lots of people making money offa this pathetic war.

The fact that you personally paid some of it make me quite happy.

  7. Dave Surls Says:

One of the many great things about the war is is that leftys love the Baathists/Talibaners/terrorists and we get to steal money from the leftys (via taxation) and use it to kill the guys leftys love!

It don’t get no sweeter than that.

  8. The_Real_JeffS Says:

THE ALPHTARD™’s day is made. HUZZAH! I shall continue to donate to independent journalists, so that THE ALPHTARD™ may be happy.

Oh, and other profiteers: Wal-Mart, Safeway, and other stores, when I buy goodies to put in care packages for troops.

Other tip jars to hit, folks!

    Soldier’s Angels.

    Books For Soldier

  10. The_Real_JeffS Says:

    Spirit of America

  11. The_Real_JeffS Says:

And last, but not least, Operation Gratitude.

  12. The_Real_JeffS Says:

    Dang! Trying again……

    Operation Gratitude.

  13. Purple Avenger Says:

OT – but its been revealed that Beauchamp confessed that the whole series of stories were a pack of lies, and he did it on the first day he was questioned!

  14. alphie Says:

Too bad the military couldn’t get Pat Tillman to “recant” his story. eh?

The threat of prison was rather wasted on him.

  15. CK MacLeod Says:

Mr. Crittenden deserves a higher quality troll. It’s sometimes fun to see the ones like Alphie baited, but when they come up with something that shows just how sick they really are, it’s just sad.

  16. The_Real_JeffS Says:

Well, CK, you tell you’ve either scored with THE ALPHTARD™, or He lost any pretention of His moral high ground, when He changes the subject, and throws out one of His non-sequiturs.

Like, for example, in His comment immediately before yours.

  17. saltydog Says:

Jeff, you’re just a neo-con, faith-based, genocide lovin’, war-profiteering … er … shoot, I can’t think of all the nefarious things you represent, Jeff. You be a bad man. And I be a bad saltydog cause I’ve tipped those jars myself–more than once.

If a body can’t come up with the cash, he might consider taking the books he hasn’t pulled out of the bookcases for an age, and run them down to the local USO. There’s one in most major airports. The troops can take the books they choose with them, so the USO’s are always looking for stock.

  18. Purple Avenger Says:

Tillman wasn’t working for the enemy Alphie – TNR and Beauchamp’s propaganda was.

  19. alphie Says:

Our own soldiers are now the “enemy” to your little cult of deadenders, PA?

I bet you still wonder why over 60% of Americans have abandoned your grubby little crusade, dontcha?

Read your post to get a clue why.

  20. Dave Surls Says:

“Five weeks ago, I came into a village near Baqubah with American and Iraqi soldiers. Al Qaeda had openly stated Baqubah was their worldwide headquarters — indeed, Al Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed just a short drive away.”

“Behind the village was a palm grove. I stood there, amid the crushing stench of death, and photographed the remains of decapitated children and murdered adults. I can still smell the rotting corpses of those children.”

    Nice guys those Muslim terrorists.

I can see why the leftys are dead set against fighting them. I think the leftys have mistaken the enemy for communists.

  21. saltydog Says:

It’s the fear, Dave–wipe away all the bromides, and platitudes, and nods to their unexamined morality–look deep into their souls, and you will find that it is fear motivates them. They fear bullies and so placate anyone who looks at them sideways. They cannot fathom that anyone could succeed in fighting the bully, because they never had the guts to try. So, they align themselves with the worst of the worst, giving all the “right” reasons, of course.
