Takes One

To know one. Dysfunctional Congress leader offers “non-functional” parliament advice:

Declaring the government of Iraq “non-functional,” the influential chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee said yesterday that Iraq’s parliament should oust Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his cabinet if they are unable to forge a political compromise with rival factions in a matter of days.

“I hope the parliament will vote the Maliki government out of office and will have the wisdom to replace it with a less sectarian and more unifying prime minister and government,” Sen. Carl M. Levin (D-Mich.) said after a three-day trip to Iraq and Jordan.

Levin’s statement, the most forceful call for leadership change in Iraq from a U.S. elected official, comes as about two dozen lawmakers are traveling to Iraq during Congress’s August break to glean firsthand assessments before receiving a progress report next month from Gen. David H. Petraeus, the U.S. commander there, and Ryan C. Crocker, the U.S. ambassador.

That’s interesting. Here’s someone who’s doing everything he can to undermine a wartime president with divisive bomb-throwing, in a party that can’t keep its own people in line on Iraq abandonment, with advice for how Iraq should unify itself politically. I suppose he knows what he’s talking about.

Why not just bring back a Saddam-like dictator and be done with it? Can’t be much more unified than that. [/congressional idiot]

The man obviously has no sense of irony.

Clearly not, saltydog. I’ve had to replace yet another ironymeter. Stupid Dhimmicrats. At this rate of loss, I’ll be able to claim the costs on my income tax under “losses due to disasters”….the current Congress being nothing more than one non-stop disaster.

  4. Terrye Says:

The truth is I have heard some people on the right say things a lot like that because they feel that Maliki has not been strong enough. But coming from Levin it is a hoot. These guys can not even pass an immigration bill and no one is trying to kill them.

  5. Vanguard of the Commentariat Says:

Heh. Lowest rated (US) congress of all time. Harry and Nancy must be so proud!

No word yet on whether Levin can actually comprehend the fact that Iraq has its first “congress” ever, and that it operates under conditions that would make him mess himself at the very thought.

I’ll stick up for Levin…but this is the last time, to tell him to wear his glasses, properly.

Oh and ummm, Carl, you’re a dipshit.
