Why Britain must hold a referendum on the EU….

One reason and one alone. In 1975 the British public were asked to vote on joining the Common Market (what has now mutated into the EU). I was 9 years old and didn’t get to vote. I am now 41 and no-one has asked me if I want to be in the EU. Every 4 of 5 years we get to vote on which bunch of crooks and cretins we want to run Britain, so why am I not allowed the same privilege when it comes to the EU. We joined a trading group not a political monster. It is only fair, right and democratic ( not that the unelected fools that run the EU believe in Democracy) that I and those of my generation should have a choice.

Incidentally I would vote to leave.

    I hear you.

We’re nearly the same age, and I, unlike you, was recently allowed to vote ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ on the tightening of the new Soviet state’s grip.

I voted No liek the majority around, but it won’t matter in the end: the much celebrated Super Sarkozy, that so-called Thatcherian Reaganite, is working on doing exactly what the old Socialist crook Mitterand did before him, and will bring back the European Slavery Charter (also called ‘Constitution’) a second time, but *without* a referendum of course.
Clever Sarkozy won’t run the risk of giving “We The People” a second chance to answer “Get stuffed”.

“not that the unelected fools that run the EU believe in Democracy”

    Indeed!

Quelle surprise. Voting on the European Union might lead to everyone saying no. Should they say no then how will all those people get their Quango’s, their EU pensions (dependant on never, ever questioning the EU) and the ability to cream off all that juicy EU money.

I wasn’t even born in 1975 when the first act of treason happened (for indeed until 1998 it was treason to sign all those lovely, lovely treaties.) I was born with the Berlin Wall coming down. Now our cheery EU mates are trying to bring back all the delightful Soviet trappings- or indeed have.

Monsier D. Frogman, could we honestly expect anything but dishonesty, crookedness and spin from a European politican? Anyone calling themselves Thatcherite or Reagenite today should be put under more suspicion than anyone calling themselves a Scoialist- at least they are advertising their evil openly.

    WORD to that Theo,

I’m sick to the back teeth of being told what I must do how I must think. Not even to mention the huge sinkhole of damned cash we have to pour into the behemoth that is the EUssr.

Some much for a free trade zone, my vote goes with sacking the lot of them off and going with our colonial cousins over the pond. (providing they take spelling lessons of course :P ) I’m giving my homeland another decade and I’ll have the pennies to give them the finger and retire somewhere more appropriate. No way are those thieving shysters getting much more of my hard earned.

You want a vote because you never hand one? There’s an even worse case - I was 18 in 1975 and fell for the “it’s only a trading block” line that Heath was putting out. You have a clean slate - I have something to correct. It’s *personal*.

Can’t say I expect a vote though — there’s too many politicians with a vested interest in the way.
