Terror Talk
OBL wants to talk. The worst part is, we have to listen. Need to know what the bearded old goat is yapping about. Now I know how people who hate Bush feel when he gets up to speak. You know, the world’s greatest terrorist. Must feel the same for them, having to listen to him.
I suppose there will be some gloating, some promise of attacks. Blah blah Allah blah blah righteous blah blah Muslims blah blah Crusaders. Maybe the plan is that the attack will have already happened, or will be imminent. Maybe it was that German thing that got busted, but it takes too long to get messages out by donkey, so it was too late to pull it back. Who knows.
He’s on the ropes in Iraq, and really not doing that well in Afghanistan. I don’t know what he can say about that. Maybe like al-Zawahri he wants to exhort the Democratic leadership of Congress to live up to its campaign promises and do his bidding, in advance of the Petraeus show … stop giving up on surrender. Meanwhile, his guys keep getting picked up before they can accomplish anything. The ones, at least, like these Germans who were out in plain view taking pictures of GIs. It’s the ones who aren’t out in plain view doing that kind of thing that I’m more concerned about.
Is he just taking advantage of the anniversary to rattle on, or is there going to be a point? Doesn’t really matter. The only people on Earth capable of defeating us is us, and despite some of the best efforts of some of us, there is no indication where ready to do that to ourselves just yet. That doesn’t mean we don’t have to pay attention to what our enemy is thinking, and saying.
Oh yeah, one other thing. Apparently Old Dung Ball has dyed his beard. That’s pretty lame. Girly terrorist.

OBL will give the same propaganda, chapter and verse, that the Democrats and their media organs preach to their choirs. OBL’s rambling speech will contain the same cant phrases and sobriquets geared to the audiences who thrive on it, with a few “death to the infidel” and “calls for an Islamic caliphate and shari’a law” swirled in for good measure so the major nets can pick out the really ominous sayings for their newscasts. Maybe for a goof, he’ll give a shout out to a few anti-war groups, do a name check here and there (”Hello, Ninth Circuit Court!” “We got your back, Daily Kos!”) and then go back to his cave with his buddies.

You can bet the congressional leadership will be tuned in pick up anything new in the script, though I’m damned if I can keep up with who says what first and who steals from who’s speech.

Let’s see:
- Bin Laden wanted American troops out of Saudi Arabia. Check
- Bin Laden wanted American troops to get embroiled in a quagmire that al Qaeda could use to recruit volunteers, the U.S. military would be overextended, and U.S. support would plummet around the world. Check.
- Bin Laden wanted freedom to continue his operations. Check.
Ok, so who do you think is helping out al Qaeda more - Democrats or Republicans?

Slick Willy had a chance to deal with Bin Laden et al, but he was a little too busy NOT having sex with Monica and helping the KLA jihadsts, to deal with uys who were actually attacking Americans.
Bush and co. have killed and captured thousands of terrorists, and smashed two state sponsors of terrorism.
Not much of a choice.
Democrats are a bunch of worthless pissants.

In formulating his sundry tapes/speeches, that old guy with the coke bottle thick spectacles and the prayer bump in the middle of his forehead…has often “picked up” rants in the western press and cues from Mikey Moore in condemning the infidel.
As did Osama in his sundry fatwas before he went underground. (maybe literally)
Which is, in its way, funny.
I dunno about Osama’s portended reincarnation. The scraggly grey beard has been replaced by a healthy brown beard. While dyeing the beard can happen, trimming is anathema.
Plus, the “new” Osama has a heavy face and looks more like Richard Reid.

I’m with Sarah Rolph on this one. It will be interesting to hear what the analysts say when they get through picking the video apart.
Of course, if he is alive, he must be tired of hearing that so many of us think he’s dead. So he has to make a new tape to put us upstart infidels in our place. Frankly, if that’s the case, I hope the analysts find something in the tape that pinpoints where he is and drops him a reply.

Well let’s see. Osama and his boyos hate democracy, and the US has jump-started two democracies in the Muslim world, doubling the number of them. And Muslims in those countries mostly seem to be pleased with the idea of self-government, so that is two strikes against OBL. Meanwhile the anti-Bush crowd continues to insist that Muslims are just a bunch of ragheaded wogs who can’t govern themselves and need a dictator to keep them in line. OBL wants a religious dictator, the lefties want a secular one (if you can find one such any more). But they are together on the dictator part versus we dreaded neocons. Two down for OBL, check.
The vicious nature of attempted Al Qaeda rule in Anbar and Diyala has alienated most of the Sunni tribes of those provinces, turning them against OBL’s boyos and towards the Americans. One down for OBL, check.
Al Qaeda manages to continue in Iraq and Afghanistan only by support of Iran and some of the Saudi princes, and a ready supply of gullible, idiotic Saudi clowns willing to commit suicide to get at those 72 virgins that otherwise the princes in the Wahhabist Entity would monopolize so they never got any totty. Otherwise AQ is on the ropes. One down for OBL, check.
OBL seems to be doing fine in the lawless Tribal territories of Pakistan. This will continue until the AQ and Taliban actually try to govern as they did in Anbar and Diyala in Iraq. Whereupon they wil make the local tribes so outraged at them that the Waziris will probably kill them all, except for their cousins, who will instead be killed by the Afridis. I suppose that is one for OBL, temporarily.
