15 Minutes Extended
I don’t doubt for a minute there are men out there somewhere itching to tell stories about Larry Craig, and I’ve been wondering when they’d surface.
But this is a little too precious: “‘Sen. Craig visited me,’ says escort who claimed relationship with Haggard.’”
DENVER - The gay escort whose allegations forced the resignation of nationally renowned evangelist Ted Haggard now says he was also visited by Idaho Sen. Larry Craig.
Craig is the Republican senator who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges earlier this year after his arrest in a Minneapolis airport bathroom for propositioning an undercover police officer.
Mike Jones of Denver appeared on a Palm Springs, California radio show Wednesday night.
Jones was promoting his book on the Haggard affair on the “Bulldog Bill Feingold Show” broadcast on KNWQ-AM when the show went into a commercial break.
It was during that commercial break Wednesday night that Jones made an accusation that Craig had visited him in Denver in February 2005.
A TV news photographer for KESQ-TV, the ABC affiliate in Palm Springs, kept recording as Jones talked about his contact with Craig.
Feingold reportedly asked Jones if Craig met him in a hotel room.
Jones responded, “No, he came to see me.”
Jones did not reveal if he had sexual contact with Craig.
I’m guessing that’s because at this point Mr. Jones is, sorry, apologies in advance for bad choice of words, just feeling this out. You can almost hear the publicist: “So, d’you ever do Larry Craig? Doing Larry Craig could be good. No? Well … uh … did he ever come to see you?”
Craig’s office told KESQ-TV, “Mike Jones’ allegations are completely false.”
The Palm Springs TV station also reports that Craig’s office added, “Clearly anyone can make an accusation absent of details that would be easy to refute.”
Could be true, I suppose. Maybe there’s some kind of power gay Denver-Idaho-Washington-Televangelical thing going on. Maybe there’s a buzz about Jones. Important guys jones for Jones. Have to have what Haggard had. I dunno. I think it’s more likely that Jones, who is willing to sell just about anything, is currently selling a book.

I’ve been hearing a lot of conjecture masquerading as proof. Life is good for the accuser when the target can’t disprove the allegations.

The guy Jones is probably not beyond saying anything to sell a book.
However, you have forced me :-) to link my favorite LC story.
