Infidel Alert!
MEMRI: Jihad Commander in Afghanistan Sheikh Al-Ustadh Yasser in New Al-Sahab Video: “The American is an Infidel Fighting the Muslims – Hence, the Muslims Must Fight Him Everywhere.”
What Muslims want to do is their business. But I wouldn’t advocate following the advice of someone whose holy warriors get waxed like swimsuit models every time they attempt to righteously smite the infidels. Anyway, here’s some great Koranic scholarship from the sheikh:
Turning to the topic of the Americans, he called the American an infidel who is fighting the Muslims, and said that it is therefore incumbent on all Muslims to fight him everywhere. He argued that were this not the case, i.e. if the “Crusaders and the Jews” were not regarded as infidels who are fighting the Muslims, it would mean that in today’s world there is no infidel who is fighting the Muslims, and that all the Koranic verses that say “Kill them” and “Fight them” were obsolete - and this cannot be. Consequently, he called on religious scholars to issue fatwas that, at the very least, designate the Americans as infidels, in order to clarify that their conflict with the Muslims is religious rather than political.
It must be terribly frustrating that the infidels refuse to make this about religion, keep making nice with imams. How much easier for Yasser, bin Laden and company it would be if crazy infidels were running around blowing themselves up in western mosques. The Taliban might then not be forced to reveal the criminal nature of the infidel by scurrying among women and children in order to draw infidel fire upon them.
Meanwhile, this guy’s been in the cave too long. Must be getting his information from major American news organizations:
On the topic of Iraq, Yasser said: “The attack on Iraq has opened the door for victory and jihad in Iraq, which used to be one of the weaker countries in terms of Islamic and jihadist awakening. [In the past,] no one could have imagined that a group of jihad fighters would rise up and oppose the American imperialism so [mightily].” He added that the establishment of a jihad front in Iraq had solved a problem for the Arab youth: In the past, they had had to travel to Afghanistan in order to embark on jihad, which posed difficulties in terms of distance and language, but today Allah has given them an opportunity to wage jihad close to home. Yasser went on to say that the American presence in Iraq serves the interests of the jihad fighters, since the Americans have fallen into a trap - the longer they stay in Iraq, the heavier the losses they incur in money, human life and morale.

I guess the good sheikh hasn’t been keeping up with what’s happening in Iraq now. As far as solving the problems of Arab youth… I suppose you could call them solved when there are no more Arab youth.

I wonder if this kind of pretzel logic causes severe headaches. Trying to follow it certainly gave me one.

The “Arab youth” get brainwashed into the glories of blowing themselves up while the old guys hide out in caves, being managers.
Allah didn’t offer up Iraq to “the youth” (like that 13 year old Saudi boy who couldn’t wait to get to the virgins ?) and, unfortunately to the hyped message, the west isn’t out to destroy Islam.
I have it on good Authority that Allah thinks these modern day teachings of (radical) Islamists are mind bendingly stupid and inane.

Sheikh Al-Ustadh Yasser is, in part, playing the Arab exaggeration game, which can slide quickly into fabulism. The terrorists will claim attacks on infidels and the like, when nothing of the sort actually happened. There was the case where Hezbollah (IIRC) claimed to have sunk a naval vessel, and posted a picture of the “attack”….which was actually a photo of the Royal Australian Navy practice firing a torpedo on an old freighter.
Or, when I was in Kuwait. I used to read English translations of some terrorist web sites claiming attacks on US forces in Kuwait. And not little ones, either. Which I never saw or heard of.
So it’s possible that Sheik Al-Up The-Wazoo isn’t living in a cave…..he’s just a fabulist. Or denying reality.

He does sound too well plugged into the DNC talking points to be just another junior freshman seat warmer.
