War Crimes Smackdown
Holocaust survivor Lantos does the honors on some Euroweenies:
“Europe was not as outraged by Auschwitz as by Guantanamo Bay”
Surber will take it from here:
The liberal Lantos is far from a friend of Gitmo. The Dutch sent these politicians here to bitch about Gitmo.
The Dutch are threatening to remove their 1,600 troops from Afghanistan to protest Gitmo. Dutch politicians face growing problems with Islamic youths and likely fear a L’Intifada like France suffered in 2005.
(Green Party legislator Mariko) Peters said: “We have to close Guantanamo because it symbolizes for me everything that is wrong with this war on terror.”
To which Lantos apparently replied: “Europe was not as outraged by Auschwitz as by Guantanamo Bay”
He also said: “You have to help us, because if it was not for us you would now be a province of Nazi Germany.”
Yeah. OberfFrankreich. The Dutch pols surrender without a fight, but not without more Eurowhining. Surber helpfully counsels the Euros to “put a sock in it.”
Tigerhawk: Euros say Yanks ignore history, Euros seem to have misplaced theirs.
Michael van der Galien: Holocaust survivor’s cowboy diplomacy crosses the line, Dems almost as bad as Republicans! … nice thought, VDG, but that’s just wishful thinking. Anyway, if it wasn’t for undiplomatic cowboys, you’d be living in Niederdeutschland!
Topics: Europe, Guantanamo, pols

They’ll need those 1,600 at home to keep a lid on the Car-B-Q’s. I say let’em go.

I guess the Dutch aren’t as committed to freedom as they claim. Perhaps liberating Europe from the Nazis was a wasted effort …..at least for the Dutch.

Thanks. I like Michael, but he’s too thin skinned. Dutch actually showed some gratitude in 1976 when the 101st showed up for the first time since the war. (I was not with the 101st)

It’s not Gitmo they resent so much. It’s the image of Gitmo fed to them by the intellectually inbred pomozers, leftards, neo-commie rat bastages and other forms of mass murder friendly social utopianistic morons.
They choose to believe the propaganda spun out by those who wish to aid in our destruction. No matter how thin, weak and transparent that propaganda, they choose to believe it.
Take the enemy’s side in a fight and you’ve become enemy. They can take all their immoral unrighteous outrage, wrap it up in something sharp and jagged, shove it up themselves, break it off and bleed out.
We have been far too nice with weak suck degenerate leftardic eurotrash for far too long.

Grimmy, I wish you’d get over this shyness of yours and tell us what you really think.
They’ve got a lot of nerve. Thing is, what they are really asking is for us to save them from their Muslims–that is, they want us to save their bacon once again (if I’m allowed to use “Muslim” and “bacon” in the same sentence). It isn’t enough that we spent men and treasure for them twice in one century, now they want us to sacrifice our autonomy and our civilization, based on the hope it will buy them another five minutes reprieve from the inevitable consequences of their cowardice. Under the circumstances, I don’t think we could possibly be too “insulting and counterproductive.”

Does anybody else recall how Dutch soliders stood by doing nothing during a Rwanda massacre occuring before their eyes? Let the Dutch recall these brave warriors. I doubt they’re doing much good in Afghanistan either.

After their treatment of Hirsi Ayaan Ali, I’m not surprised at Dutch behavior. But I am fundamentally disappointed.

They are more concerned with Gitmo than they were the gulags. Oh but the it is the same thing right? At least 35 million have been worked to death in Cuba. No? Well then….

It would simply be hilarous if it wasn’t for so much damage the idiots do.
The same scumbags that are still upset because their socialist Utopian, mass murder cult of choice lost the Cold War run around making up accusations out of thin air and these brain dead asshats just eat it up with a spoon.
Screw em. They are not allies. They live on a steady diet of hostile propaganda. They do nothing but get in the way.
Nothing about any of their crap is based in anything but myth and make believe. They belong, heart and soul, to the enemy.
We’ve already had detainees that were released show back up on the battlefield and be captured while killing more of our soldiers or local civilians.
Weak, stupid and mindless regurgitations of hostile propaganda.

[...] A lot has changed since O’Rourke — my neighbor over the state line in “Live Free or Die” New Hampshire, just 70 miles away, next door in America terms — wrote those words, but some things remain the same. Why, it was just last month that my good host at this site, my dear clog-hopping, dike-plugging Dutch friend Michael van der Galien, invoked the term “Cowboy Diplomacy.” [...]
