Impeachment!

At last. Unfortunately, it’s just Kucinich,* and I don’t think they’re paying any more attention to him in the house than they are anywhere else. But it’s a start:

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) announced today that he will be offering a privileged resolution on the House floor next week that will bring articles of impeachment against the Vice President, Richard B. Cheney.

“The momentum is building for impeachment,” Kucinich said. “Millions of citizens across the nation are demanding Congress rein in the Vice President’s abuse of power.

“Despite this groundswell of opposition to the unconstitutional conduct of office, Vice President Cheney continues to violate the U.S. Constitution by insisting the power of the executive branch is supreme.

“Congress must hold the Vice President accountable. The American people need to let Members of Congress know how they feel about this. The Vice President continues to use his office to advocate for a continued occupation of Iraq and prod our nation into a belligerent stance against Iran. If the Vice President is successful, his actions will ensure decades of disastrous consequences.”

Yes, hold him accountable! But where’s Pelosi, Murtha?  This is a job for the leadership.  Seeing as they have been unable to accomplish anything else, it’s only right that they should be the ones to unaccomplish this.  Do it for America.  Do it for 2008. Just do it!

* And 21 of his closest pals from the (somewhat more) wacked end of the surrender camp:

H. Res. 333, Articles of Impeachment against the Vice President, has 21 cosponsors. They are: Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Robert Brady (D-PA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-MO), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), Rep. Sam Farr (D-CA), Rep. Bob Filner (D-CA), Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Rep. Henry Johnson (D-GA), Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-MI), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA), Rep. James Moran (D-VA), Rep. Donald Payne (D-NJ), Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-NY), Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), Rep. Diane Watson (D-CA), Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) and Rep. Albert Wynn (D-MD).

Surber, who’s got history with Kucinich, “Recall Dennis.”  But Don, impeachment is good, will help the people decide who to hold accountable.

So they’re ready to impeach V.P. Cheney for expressing an opinion. Well, why not. They’re busy negating First Amendment rights for everybody else, why not do the whole egalitarian dance and shut up the elected officials as well.

Do you think maybe Dennis hasn’t thought this through completely?

    Do you think Dennis thinks?

I think that Dennis the Menace thinks too much for his own good. His exuberance might turn around and bite him in the ass.

He was kidnapped by the UFO and had his brain replaced with a cauliflower.

It’s always amazed me that Kookcinich manages to keep his tie dry without a bib. This latest rendition of the Three-Ring Congress ought to be entertaining.

Na, he just moves electrons around a circular course. No stopping point and obviously no start.

Abuse of power by the Veep. Yeah, we all know how powerful the office of the Vice President can be. Bwahahahahahahahahahaha.

Sorry, I couldn’t keep it in any longer. This is, a bit belatedly, a strike at Bush. If Cheney is gone and Bush impeached and convicted Pelosi will become President. Elections? We don’t need no elections. We don’t got to have no steenking elections.

I don’t think there is enough time left before the elections for this strategy to play out. The Dems are going to have to try to win an election anyway, and right now what they’ve got to go up against any Republican nominee is a choice of a witch or one of the keystone kops.

This whole impeachment scare is idiotic anyway. The Dems are going to impeach Bush or Cheney for defending the country in time of war? Riiiight. If they want to lose the next election, and several after that, they should go right ahead. I suspect the few sane ones know this.

Casting my eye over the list of cosponsors I see many of the usual suspects, Moran, McDermott, Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson-Lee. I also noted freshman Keith Ellison, our only Muslim Congresscritter. No less than six of the 21 are from California. Is it something in the water there that creates imbeciles?
