Because That’s What Quitters Do
They give up, you dolt. What do you expect from the party that has made surrender its primary goal?
Sorry, thinking out loud again … I was just reading yet another idiotic piece from the sockpuppet, who is among those dismayed that the Senate confirmed the Torturer General:
Every time Congressional Democrats failed this year to stop the Bush administration (i.e., every time they “tried”), the excuse they gave was that they “need 60 votes in the Senate” in order to get anything done. Each time Senate Republicans blocked Democratic legislation, the media helpfully explained not that Republicans were obstructing via filibuster, but rather that, in the Senate, there is a general “60-vote requirement” for everything.
How, then, can this be explained?
The Senate confirmed Michael B. Mukasey as attorney general Thursday night, approving him despite Democratic criticism that he had failed to take an unequivocal stance against the torture of terrorism detainees. The 53-to-40 vote made Mr. Mukasey, a former federal judge, the third person to head the Justice Department during the tenure of President Bush . . . Thirty-nine Democrats and one independent [Bernie Sanders] opposed him.

I can’t believe how gullible nutroots are. The Democrats are stringing them along with platitudes and lip service, while acting in their own vote-getting interests, and the nutroots continue to swallow it (while having hand-flapping, foot-stamping tantrums).
Wait. Am I complaining? Hell, no.

Being in the majority just ain’t what it used to be.

To do the work of God requires 60 votes, the work of Satan is accomplished with mere majorities. For Soque Puppet, the work of God is truly a marvel.

What is telling is why the Dhims are able to pull the rhetorical wool over the collective eyes of the nutroots: it seems too few of them have even a basic understanding of civics. I suppose such knowledge isn’t nearly as important as, say, the lessons learned in a class in the affects of genderism, classism, racism, ageism and heteronormalism among transgendered male lesbian dominatrix role models.

Hey, nutroots…
There’s always Ron Paul! Why, with your support, he’ll win in a landslide (Remenber what you did for Ned Lamont).
Go for it, dudes. You are already off the deep end.

Mr. Jetson,
They probbly would, if they had the wits to understand what he is talking about when he extolls the Gold Standard. “What’s this monetary policy stuff, anyway? They never mentioned that in my Marxism Lite classes at Enormous State University.” Also he’s too anti-statist for their tastes. They are, after all, hoping for jobs as Big Chief Commissars (or even Deputy Assistant, Sub-Vice-Chief Commissars) in a socialist America.
