In Olympia, Wash., anti-war protestors try to block the return of military equipment from Iraq

At least a dozen people were arrested Saturday as demonstrators rallied to protest military-cargo shipments at Olympia’s port.

Saturday’s actions by police came one day after protesters halted two trucks from removing military equipment that had been unloaded from a ship coming from Iraq. The equipment was bound for Fort Lewis.

Protesters blocked traffic downtown about noon by jumping in front of large trucks with cargo containers.

Hey guys!  Noodle this one out. That’s stuff’s coming back!

Olympia police in riot gear moved in quickly, spraying pepper spray in the faces of the protesters, pushing them with their batons and dragging them away.

Hey Olympia PD! Next time just pepper spray them and leave them there! They’re doing Chimpy Bushitler’s work, trying to keep that stuff in Iraq!

Welcome, Small Dead Animals, Newsbusters, etal. Always so good to see you.  I know these words don’t trip lightly off Canadian lips, and you’ll never guess who’s saying “Thank you, America.” No, not this partner for peace. We ditched the king a long time ago, but even a yank can feel a little nostalgic for the monarchy. Not this guy though, he’s praying that the peasants will rise up against the totalitarian nightmare that is King George 43. Whatever. Here’s a newsreel. And maybe they could turn this into a sappy wartime Christmas movie.  Keep dreaming.

If you want to see some excellent blogging on the morons in Olympia, check out SondraK. I’ll post a couple of her better entries below.

My first comment should have had a link to http://www.sondrak.com, can’t say why it dropped out.

    Thanks for the links, TRJS.

It is no surprise that there are pros at these protests. Most people deny to this day that pros were behind so much of what went on in the late 60’s, but they were there, too. I’m sure it’s all better organized by now, what with the precedents set back then.

    Thoughtless cretins.

“Gathering of sociopaths” describes it pretty well. Sanctimonious pinheads would do too. These are people who are incapable of doing anything more useful with their lives than causing disturbances and disrupting the activities of people who actually have jobs. Then they mug for the cameras and claim they’re being made into martyrs. The smug hypocrisy is almost suffocating.

Professional protesters and/or career complainers fits their description perfectly.

$60,000 per year, good health benes, use of the pool and company VW bus, subsidized co-op shopping trips…how often to do they work? Once or twice per month printing out day-glo stickers with mental-ward nonsense and marching around professing fascism is in the government and drinking water…nice work if you can get it.

But protesting things coming back from Iraq? Man, someone must have screwed up the propaganda manifest as a goof.

Kin we start shooting them yet? I ain’t had no shooting practice fer an age o’ whatever. Shouldn’ta run all them squirrels off to the coast anyway, we need to keep ‘em out here in the palouse fer practice. maybe we kin have ‘em ship up them squirrels from Berkeley too.

If it means anything, Mike, you have my permission to commence firing at will.

Anti-War Protesters Try to Block Return of Military Equipment

Oh those crazy leftists!!! They want us welcome criminals and illegal aliens with open arms, but don’t let the military or military equipment return from Iraq!!

Hilarious. One of the only Left wing issues that has made any sense since 9-11 has been that of adequately resourcing first responders (even though its rooted in a sort of Tip O’Neill “buy your votes all politics is local” worldview).

So when the nutroots base attacks the first responders, as in this case, where is Ms or Mr US Representative, D-Olympia, to stand up and castigate the attackers?.

Oh and the equipment is returning from Iraq? That is just too ironic for words.

OK Salty, on the job, will check in when opposing forces neutralized. Uh, Salty can I have your autograph? Right here on this bottom line if you don’t mind. Don’t worry about those other papers, they don’t matter. :D
