Rep. Dartez (D-Oops)
Lousiana pol fails basic intelligence test. No, not “Don’t Take Envelopes of Cash from Total Strangers.” The other rule. “Remember, it’s 2007 now.”
On top of being grossly inappropriate, I’d suggest that like Imus, Dartez is guilty of an unacceptably low sense of humor. Hats off to the AP for pointing out as high as graph 2 the party affiliation. Hotair suggests this was forced on AP by the electoral ramifications. I say that gift horse’s teeth look OK to me. But I thought these people were supposed to be more sensitive and enlightened than oppressive white male Republicans. I guess it just underscores how far we all have to go in race relations.
The Dartez family allegedly is more accommodating to other minorities. Undocumented Americans, for example.
Meanwhile, Dartez has been having a bad couple of months. Mrs. Boykin’s racial sensitivities aren’t the only thing she ran into recently.
Welcome Gateway, etal. So good to see you. It’s good to get to know your partner for peace. I don’t think we want to give these people a reason to take back their ”Thank you, America.” We ditched the king a long time ago, but this makes me nostalgic for monarchy. This guy would rather see the peasants will rise up against King George 43 and his totalitarian nightmare. Whatever. Here’s a newsreel. And maybe they could turn this into a sappy wartime Christmas movie.

Yet 9 out of 10 black Americans vote for the party of Dred Scott, Jim Crow and Robert Byrd over the party of Abraham Lincoln, Jackie Robinson and Everett Dirksen every time…

Will there be a resolution denoucing the representative from Louisiana? Will there be calls from the floor calling for her to retire?
If anyone were to speak up, they’d never be heard over the calls for the impeachment and imprisonment of the entire Bush administration. Not a bad defense, I guess. It seems to be working.

If Dartez has lived most of her life in Louisiana, she can’t claim ignorance about what “Buckwheat” means. She probably has spent so much time with black constituents she thought she could be familiar enough to use their language, but there are just some words white people can’t say. And yes, it’s a double standard (how much public outrage is there, for instance, when Al Sharpton uses the word “cracker”?).
