Are You Now, Or Have You Ever Been
… a Republican?
Lawyer Barry W. Tyerman:
“Please be advised that Ms. Hatcher is not a Republican, but more importantly does not choose to have her political affiliation or viewpoints on any particular candidate or issue in the current presidential campaign included in your proposed article,” lawyer Barry W. Tyerman said in an e-mail.
Say Anything calls it reverse McCarthyism, photo-negative of 1950s blacklisting. I’d call it pretty much straight-ahead McCarthyism lite. The politics of intimidation.

Strangely enough, I was just following the same links and appalled at what I found (but not really, because we’ve all become accustomed to the leftist slant of American entertainment, haven’t we?).
Living on the edge of life as I do, I’m not moved by much of the machinations of politically motivated people. When it comes to entertainers, less so. In my present world, they are required to be entertaining, since that’s their job. Their political beliefs (if they actually have any that are actually worth examining, don’t interest me.

“McCarthyism”
Senator McCarthy didn’t do anything wrong that I’ve ever seen.

“I’d call it pretty much straight-ahead McCarthyism lite.”
So?
I practice that myself. I like to buy movies, but I don’t buy movies with Danny Glover in them, because he’s a pro-commie, anti-American piece of crap, and he deserves to be blacklisted.

Roger on the Danny Glover and Robert Redford flicks. They’re a non-starter.

The same with Hanoi Jane the bane of the military. The individual who has never done a thing to protect or uphold the way of life that others hold dear ‘for her.’ The actress who got marketing 101 so wrong.

“Hanoi Jane”
Exactly the sort of person the blacklists were aimed at, an out and out traitor to the United States and a commie scumbag who ought to never work again (except in the prison workshop while she’s serving time for treason).

“Are you now or have you ever been…a Republican?”
Yes. I don’t always agree with them, but then I never agree with the other clowns.
Next question.

It’s worth remembering that before Joe McCarthy and his HUAC hearings, the Hollywood commies were conspiring to steer jobs to fellow commies, and to blacklist conservatives and patriots in general. No, I have no sympathy for commies.

“It’s worth remembering that before Joe McCarthy and his HUAC hearings…”
Minor correction: Senator McCarthy didn’t have anything to do with the HCUA or their hearings on Hollywood. His committee investigated federal employees.
