Yes, there are orders of magnitude of difference between Nicolas Sarkozy calling a spade a spade and suspending diplomatic relations with Syria (pointing to Syria’s ongoing interference in Lebanon in general, and attempts to manipulate the election of a new Lebanese President in particular…)

…and Nancy Pelosi making diplomatic nice nice with the Bashar al-Assad and donning that perfectly ridiculous headscarf to chat with him.

Sarkozy’s candoUr on the international scene is refreshing, to put it mildly.

Well, of course Sarkozy wouldn’t wear a scarf. Can you imagine how silly he would look? Almost as silly as the person who was supposed to be the Speaker of the House and represent the interests of the American people but somehow can’t manage it.

It is embarrassing and humiliating to acknowledge that Nicolas Sarkozy holds America in higher regard than Nancy Pelosi does.

If terrorist thug dictators required women to wear chastity belts and ball gags in their presence, I’m sure otherwise feminista Nan would happily don those too. (Its their “culture” doncha know).

But if Bush said she had to wear an American flag on her lapel (which he couldn’t do anyhow), you could bet it would be portrayed as the height of fascist outrage.

This is disgusting at so many levels. Where is NOW on this? Probably fretting about pay gaps among corporate executives or something equally important…

We are seeing a trend here, I think. The Iraqi elections have been a complete disaster for the enemy. Lebanon isn’t Gaza. Neither is Pakistan, for that matter. The Islamists, of whatever stripe, cannot countenance democratic elections in those areas they don’t control. Such elections are ideologically, and practically, anathema.

Your NOW observation is well taken.

I recollect how the NOW gals didn’t diss Bill Clinton during the Monica fiasco. After all, Bill supported universal child care or something, so all is forgiven.

    Weak minded hypocrites. .
