Best
To Tim, Aussie blogger extraordinaire, dragonslayer going to do battle with another dragon. With 430 messages and counting at his own site, Tim knows you all care, but might like to know that a number of you emailed wanting to make sure it was noted here, too. Thoughts, perspectives encouraged in comments.

I have a necessarily limited number of blogs I read every day. This is one, and timblair.net is another, and I read them for the comments as much as the original posts. That’s because the best blogs (Instapundit being a rare exception in that comments are only reposted from emails to G. Reynolds) draw together an online community of disparate but highly intelligent minds that exchange ideas, provide links, inform, and delight me at every opportunity. Even the disagreements (or maybe especially the disagreements) teach me things I didn’t know.
Tim Blair is a valuable contributor to that kind of world that gives access and a voice to people like me that we would otherwise never have. A short absence will be difficult enough, but a permanent absence is simply unthinkable. So I choose not to think it, and accept that his prognosis is good, and that he will return in short order, sound and ready to lead his ragtag army of virtual dragonslayers (or dragon-pokers) once again.

I haven’t been able to get through to the site for several days, so I appreciate it that you have made this post.
As usual, RebeccaH says what I would, and does so with an eloquence that is beyond me. Thanks to her.
Tim will survive this crisis to continue with his valuable life.

I agree: Well said, Rebecca.
May Tim’s huge heart and wonderful humor serve him well during this difficult time. It can’t hurt to have one of the greatest comments section on the Web as part of your support network.
Someone at Tim’s place left the following address for cards etc.:
The Daily Telegraph
2 Holt Street
Surry Hills NSW 2010
(Australia, of course)
Seems like a fun twist to send surface mail to one of my favorite bloggers so I thought I would pass that along in case others feel the same.

Bloggers such as Mr. Tim and our Mr. Jules have been hugely beneficial to the rest of us who strive to keep our heads up and hearts strong against our common enemies.
We’d each be alone if not for our bloggers.

The very best to Tim Blair.
I feel like we “know” each other, even if we don’t.

*WEDNESDAY MORNING UPDATE* Results of Monday’s CAT scan are in. There is no spread of the malignancy; zip, zero, zilch. It’s entirely localised. Medical science may disagree, but I think credit should go to readers and fellow bloggers. Your thoughts and prayers have eerie powers.
Massive thanks to all.

Damn! I can get on the site, but nothing I write will post. Damn. I’ve had this problem before, but it is especially irritating now.
