Not A Real Terrorist
And they were mean to him, says the judge. So Marcia Cook splits the baby, gives Padilla 17 years instead of the 30-to-life called for by federal sentencing guidelines.

‘“There is no evidence that these defendants personally maimed, kidnapped or killed anyone in the United States or elsewhere,” she said.’
Oh?
“At 14, he [Padilla] was involved in a murder when he and a friend attacked and robbed three members of a rival gang. One of the victims, Elio Evangelista, chased them, and Padilla’s accomplice stabbed him. As he lay on the ground bleeding, Padilla kicked him repeatedly. Evangelista died of his injuries, and Padilla’s companion was convicted of murder. Padilla was convicted of aggravated battery, armed robbery and attempted armed robbery, and spent about three years incarcerated at juvenile hall.”

In point of fact, Padilla is a career violent criminal who has maimed and killed people in the past, and the fact that judges like her (and the one who gave this maggot three years the first time he killed somebody) exist is why we passed a three strikes law in California.
As far as I’m concerned, the word “judge” is synonymous with idiot.

One more nail in the coffin of respect for rule of law.
Joining up with an active enemy during a shooting war is now just a difference of opinion and no big deal, according to this judge.
Now we also see why AQ trainees were well coached in demanding access to our civil courts when captured. No end of useful idiots hide their perfidy behind judges robes.
