Campaign Break In
Two nabbed for breaking into Romney’s Boston HQ. Developing, Herald:
Two Cambridge men are in custody this morning after breaking into GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s Boston campaign headquarters overnight, according to the Suffolk District Attorney’s office.
It is at least the second time would-be robbers have broken into the former Bay State governor’s presidential campaign office.
“Evidence suggests they did make it into the building, but both suspects were taken into custody outside,” said Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk DA Dan Conley.
Boston police responded to a call of a break-in just before 1 a.m. at 585 Commercial St. Police arrested Daniel J. Bradley, 28, and Michael J. Sauer, 30, on charges of breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit a felony.
Romney’s campaign spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
Two Cambridge men. Interesting. Cambridge, of course, is considered even by Massachusetts standards to be a heavily panhandlized hotbed of vegan Kumbayahist socialism, not to mention rampant discrosswalkism and wildly dangerous bicyclism. The big question is, what could they possibly want from Romney? Concerned citizens seeking to prevent the further undermining of human rights and democracy in America, in need of dirt? Performance artists on the hunt for Mormon underwear? Junkies looking to steal computers?
Herald’s update, same link, appears to have solved the myustery, trending toward the latter explanation:
Speculation that this morning’s break-in at Mitt Romney’s Commercial Street headquarters was politically driven appeared unlikely after prosecutors said the burglars were caught with beer minutes after the break and stole an iMac that was in a sealed box.
Daniel J. Bradley, 28, an out-of-work convicted burglar, and Michael J. Sauer, 31, a school custodian, were charged this morning with breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit a felony, possession of burglarious tools and open container of alcohol.

Cambridge sounds like one of those places where you have to stay awake or the clowns will get you.
