It’s about (fricking) time.
Anyway, it’s funny (or ironic) how the guys up there in the caves keep having to adjust their pronouncements (on Iraq, on violent jihad) in order to try to appear to still be in charge.

In other news, ranking Democrats joined AQ’s call for Islamic unity. They asked for the faithful to hold on until after the November elections, when their victorious candidates could force an immediate withdrawal from the entire Muslim world.

Ranking (or rank) Democrats are easily impressed.
As in when that recent NIE release meant that sweet, dear Iran didn’t have nuclear weapons’ ambitions after all and the brouhaha was just another GWB hoax.
One rank Democrat (at least) couldn’t even distinguish Sunni from Shi’ite, so he might, in fact, be impressed by AQ’s call to “unity”.

I guess speaking out against violent jihad now is at least incrementally better than the total silence we heard back when Islamic jihad seemed to be aimed more at infidels than at other Muslims.
